Wanted to do one of these before the Senior Bowl, combine, and pro days to see the general consensus of the fan base.

For this Trade back isn't an option*

Guests can vote*

I'll take the vote but would like your explanation as well.

I'd take Hunter if he's there. If not, I'd take Carter and see if I can trade Thibs for a good young DT who I can play next to Dex.

i picked Graham but my real answer is this: first, it's still very early in the process.

Second, I want them to take whichever player is considered the best for the defense they plan to play next year among Graham, Hunter and Carter.

I'm least sure about stardom for Carter. Maybe it's just the lack of dominance by Thibodeaux that has me skiddish, but I saw Carter getting the same "treatment" this season that Thibs was getting from the refs in the 2023 season... both were being held a lot and NOT getting the calls. I don't enough about it to say WHY NOT, but we don't want yet another speed pass rusher who cannot get holding calls when they have been earned.

As I've said many times, Hunter is like getting one-and-one-half blue chip players, so he has a built-in advantage in my thinking.

But I'd seriously consider Graham because he was dominant in so many games against top-level competition and I see him doing for the Giants what Aidan Hutchinson did for the Lions.  And he's definitely a Giants type of pick... (Ed Vette) lol

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Bob, you are preaching toi the choir here . Graham is my first choice . A dear friend of mine whose son has pledged $1.5 million to Michigan football , travels to every Michigan game , befriended Jim Harbaugh , now goes to every Charger game , plays golf with Harbaugh . He told me that Harbaugh thinks that Graham has a higher potential in the NFL than Hutchinson does .

At this point it looks like there is no real franchise QB in the draft or in free agency. I expect the Giants to be bad next year and the coach and GM replaced. The best process for the future of the Giants would be to pick a stud, (I choose Hunter) impact player and then next year when there is a new team, find the QB. Yes, everything is delayed a year but it might be the best path toward long term success.

MightyGiants

Since we are drafting third and don't know who will be there, I will give you my top three in order of preference.

1) QB Ward
2) CB/DB Hunter
3) Edge Abdul Carter,
SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

B-Dave: That would be a pleasant surprise if the Giants take him.  He is a bit short for the NFL (on average) but that's only the opinion of people who know "too much" about scouting (and I'm certainly not one of them by a long shot!). The thing about him is how smart he is.  He knows how to defeat blocks and is clever enough to "match wits" with even the best NFL o-linemen, IMO. Somebody's going to get a great player. Bob

President Rick

Johnson [Hunter if Johnson isn't there] BUT my preference is to trade down and draft will Howard in rd. 2.
Author of: Potomac, Knightime, Conspiracy of Terror, Rogue State, The Neutrality Imperative, Joey Jupiter - Super Sleuth [childrens books], Vigilance and Virtue, Peaceful Warrior, more.

Stringer Bell

I picked Johnson.

Assuming we'll eventually extend KT, otherwise Carter would be a consideration.

But in picking Johnson over Hunter (if still available), I don't think the Giants are the right franchise to take advantage of a two-way player. And so if basing it solely on being a full-time CB, Johnson is the way to go.
