It's not too late to fire Shoen ........dumbest move ever.  Jones over Barkley.....he does t deserve another chance with the Giants.

It was Mara's choice of Jones over Barkley.

If they tagged Jones after 2022, Barkley would be under contract and still in Blue.

I hope he's throwing up too.

When he publicly advocated for Jones (and God knows what he did in private pushing that direction), knowing precisely what that meant for the Giants' ability to sign Barkley? Jones is on Mara's tab. And to be so hoodwinked by basically one playoff game by a milquetoast player who did little of note in the great weight of his career... Mara deserves every ounce of humility that should come with the complete bungling of the franchise since he hired Gettleman.

He couldn't get rid of Jones last year because of the albatross of a contract.

That and 99% of Rbs breakdown at Barkleys age, not to mention the contract he got, and the injuries he's had. That and Tracy put up 800+ yards on 195 carries, to Barkleys 2000 on 400 carries. The production is not far off for a small fraction of the price.

According to Barkley the way he was handled by Shoen pissed him off so he signed with Eagles ...told him basically go out and see what you are worth to another team and we may or may not match it or give you more.......they had the money to sign him at same price but Barkley went with Eagles and didn't give them a chance to match the offer.

We're not talking about last year, we're talking about the year before last.




Barkley is not ninety-nine percent of backs. In fact he's much more than a running back, he's a play maker, a difference maker and I blame all three of them for this mess, Mara, Schoen and Daboll.

Mara for his meddling ways, and the other two for not drawing a line in the sand from day one. My perception is that they acquiesced on DJ to get their jobs hoping they would just turn Mara after proving they could do better at QB. Mara was the one who then drew the line in the sand.

Not to defend anyone, but if the Giants had the Eagles OL, Barkley would still be a Giant. Come on, even I, at 78, could r un thru some of those holes. When he was a giant, all he ever did was run into his OLs butts.

And what about all those injuries and he can't stay healthy for an entire season? A lot we know.

And not to change the thread topic but a word on yesterday. Is there any bigger crybaby than Mahones? Gosh if you touch him he is crying for a flag. He is worse than Brady ever was. The worst part is that they believe him and he gets every darn call.

So signing him just to be a slightly better version of what we ended up with makes sense to you? That Eagles O-line sets such an insanely high floor for that running game. I saw someone put it perfectly that he was a "luxury signing that a luxury team could afford".

The Giants truly are a minor league operation compared to the Eagles. Such an embarrassment. And Barkley is just a reflection of it
