We all know we need a quarterback but outside of that, what 4 or 5 positions do you think we need to transform this team into a contender? Between FA and the draft who are your ideal candidates to fill those needs?

We need two OL including a tackle who can start.  I'd like a rookie for OT who can start at ORT then go to OLT if/when Thomas gets hurt.  I also want a Guard via the draft, ideally a RG

Shutdown Boundary CB - someone who can play both MTM and zone.

DT - I'll take a 3 tech DT.

I pretty much agree with Joe here across the board.

We need O linemen, both a tackle (I'd be ok with a day two guy here) and interior, day 2/day 3 or FA. I'd like to see two new starters on the line next year, both of which being upgrades. Our line did look better this year for much of the season, but the Thomas really just can't be trusted to stay on the field and Eleumenor is kind of a bridge tackle rather than a long term answer. Neal to me is a confirmed bust. Schmitz is within a whisker of that characterization as well if he's not already there.

On D, I agree with a shutdown corner and I think the simplest way to get this done is take one with the third pick in the draft. At least one of Johnson or Hunter will be there. I'd be fine with either. They're both clearly top talents.

I haven't studied the free agency or cap situation in great depth, but if we want an impact DT and we have done the above, it will likely have to be free agency. I'm in the camp we should not be spending a lot on the QB position (fine with a day two flyer and a cheap vet like Fields or Mariotta). So hopefully we have some space left over for other positions if we go that route.

Well summarized Jeff.  Ditto.

My thoughts:

- A plus IOL to upgrade one of the three positions.
- Swing tackle or one that can upgrade the RT position
- Y WR to complement Nabers
- A wide body on the IOL to help spell Dex
- CB

These are not meant to be in any particular order other than that the offense should be the priority given they have been the worst in the league over the last two years.

MightyGiants

First, we need TWO quarterbacks, not one.   We need a starter and a backup as DeVito is only capable of winning meaningless games that set the franchise back a decade.

We need a boundary CB who can be the true number one CB (or at least be a quality bookend, assuming Banks gets his ack together.

The team needs a starting 3-tech DT.   They never replaced Leo and that showed this past season.   They also need a proper backup NT and backup DT

They need a 3rd Edge to have a proper rotation of pass rushers.

They need a number 2 WR to pair with Nabers, and they need WR depth

They need a starting RT or a high-end swing tackle

They need a starting RG and interior IOL depth

SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE
