How many rings do those players have?

McDaniels did not have success as a HC, but he has had plenty as an OC

Be interesting to see how he does.

Could well be he's a great OC and rubbish HC.

Or he could have struck gold with Brady and Bill and is just a jerk.

Either way, I doubt they will be dull next year.

Rich said this is an organization going in the right direction. Hiring a guy that was run out of town not by the organization but the actual players isn't necessarily the greatest.

What's more likely, that Josh McDaniels is an all world OC and just trash at every other aspect.

Or he happened to have Tom Brady and Belichick who made him look significantly better than he was like 90% of the other assistants under Belichick. Brady actually had his best season as a patriot when McDaniels left the team.

What's more probable, Belichick had a mediocre OC that he allowed to stay on his staff and then re-hired when available. Or Belichick really respected him as a football mind?

Let's do another one, what's more probable, you know more about McDaniels. Or Belichick and other NFL coaches and FOs know more about him? I guess Vrabel who people were pining for around here, is stupid and hired McDaniels even though it was just Brady and BB that towed him along.

Btw, Brady's best season was 2007 by pretty much every metric.  McDaniels was also the OC then.  Further, when Brady got hurt in 2008 and the Pats went 11-5 with Matt Cassel at QB McDaniels was also OC.

Rich is mindful that McDaniels got a Pro Bowl season out of rookie QB Mac Jones.

When Brady was lost for the 2008 season in Week 1, McDaniels got the most out of backup Matt Cassel, who hadn't started a game since high school. Cassel completed 63.4 percent of his passes for nearly 3,700 yards and 21 touchdowns, and the Patriots went 10-5 with him as the starter. The Patriots had the eighth-highest scoring offense in the NFL that season.

When Brady was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season, the Patriots went 3-1 with Jimmy Garoppolo and a rookie Jacoby Brissett leading the way at quarterback.

Matt Cassel had a better 3 year stretch 16 years ago than Jones has ever had so he's not horrible. The problem though is that Cassel produced in the 2 years following McDaniels.

Brissett and Jimmy G have both found success outside the marginal starting time in New England, so did McDaniels really do anything? It's not like new England was trotting out drew lock, Brissett, Jimmy, and Cassel all had talent.

How many OCs DIDN'T have success when Tom Brady was their QB?

Brady got better when McDaniels came in.  Do you think BB hired him back as OC after he got fired in Denver because he didn't have much value?
