Heard OL Carson Vinson stood out too.

Quote from: MightyGiants on January 29, 2025, 08:51:29 AMIn camp, Daniel Jones didn't look accurate on his long throws and looked less than comfortable.   Lock looked hit or miss and generally worse than DJ.   DeVito looked like a third-stringer.   That all played out in the season.  I appreciate that the Senior Bowl does not define a prospect, but it is a chance for some of the 2nd tier QBs to step up and shine.   That said, I am mindful that last year, Nix didn't impress in the Senior Bowl.  So, failing to shine at the SB is hardly a career death sentence.

I think there is some value, though (if you don't read too much into it).  Dart is playing in a more traditional offense at the SB.  Melrose has a chance to show he can be effective with his short to intermediate passes.   All the QBs get a chance to take snaps under center.  It's a shame Howard skipped the SB.  It would have been nice to see how he did with a level playing field rather than just having elite receivers to throw to.

It's already been determined that Milroe will never be an NFL Starter because he has small hands and won't be able to get a good spin on the ball.

Dart has made poor decisions and too often went to his checkdowns. Poor accuracy with the others.

Howard is nothing more than a big body game manager who occasionally pushes the ball downfield.

See where I'm going with this? I would rather hear your observation and trust my own rather than those who are just trying to be relevant. I do trust Bobby and Justin however.

I will point out again that these one on ones most times are against second tier competition. I was enamored with Will Hernandez at the SB practices and wanted the Giants to Draft him. Only to see him struggle at the next level. It took him years to become a competent Guard.

Watched a thing on Speilman the other day and he was saying there is a ton of buzz on Dart and that he's climbing up boards because people are finally watching the tape but that Darts intangibles pop to other personnel. His toughness, IQ and the way he handles himself stands apart from the other qbs in this class.

Senior Bowl National Team Day 2 thoughts

•Tulane Edge Mike Green with play of the week running over 1st round OT Josh Conerly
•Louisville CB Quincy Riley has great ball skills (2 PBU in 1 on 1 & dropped INT in team drills)
•Oregon WR Tez Johnson dominates every opportunity he gets win and kept himself clean on press reps
•Canadian QB Taylor Elgersma looked a lot more comfortable despite a 7 on 7 INT

Mike Green is an enigma to me currently. He played in 6 games as a freshman at Virginia and then they kicked him off the team and he didn't play any ball in 2022 before coming back in 2023 and putting up pedestrian numbers. Then in 2024 he comes out of nowhere with 17 sacks and 23 tfls. Some guys have him in their top 10 now, but there are some alarm bells going off. Is he Andre Carter from a year ago or is he Jason Pierre Paul? His level of competition is also a big concern, Marshall didn't really play anyone of note outside Ohio State. They literally played bad school after bad school.

I also don't get the Shemar Stewart love, both of these guys are rated in the teens on most mocks, and Stewart didn't do anything of note in college even though he was a 5 star. It's hard to say pass rush moves translate when Shemars pass rush moves didn't work in college. Princely Umanmielen, Nic Scourton(Stewarts teammate), Jack Sawyer, and Landon Jackson have a lot more production against elite competition.

In the NFL you have to be careful with one-contract-year wonders.  At the college level, it can be trickier.  I could be a similar put the effort for the payday, or it could be just part of the natural maturing process.

Ehh I don't know about that, Hurts had multiple years at Alabama and a year at Oklahoma to come into his own. It's why I thought Milroe should have transferred to Oregon or somewhere like that instead of going in the draft.
