Which is in no way surprising.

That's what the owner announced yesterday.  He said they were likely to re-sign one, but not both
SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

For the Steelers, signing Wilson makes absolutely no sense. He is their stop gap and he failed. If they do anything it's sign Fields. He at least has an upside.
If the Giants want a one year QB then yes go after Wilson but no more than one year. It's like the 1970s Giants signing washed up QBs because they were good once.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Wilson's drop at the end of the season should make him a little more affordable for us. We only need him for a year to groom the rookie.

"We're going to build this thing the right way... I'm not going to do a Hail Mary for self preservation. We've got a plan in place and we're going to stick with that"

I'd prefer to see if the Saints make Derek Carr available....but then again, if we draft a QB, and you know we will, either this year or next, why would he want to come here to be a placeholder, ala Cousins last year?  And is Wilson ready to accept a, "mentor and step aside when the young QB is ready" role? That may not be an easy position to fill.

He has to know he is in the twilight of his career. No one is going to pay him to be a long-term starter. It should be quite obvious to him, hence the talk. I believe all he wants is a shot at being the starter. He'll get that here.

Said it earlier this offseason but we let this best bridge qb walk last year in Tyrod.
