It was nice to see Nabers talk about the Giants. He graded himself a c- this year and seems to want to achieve greatness. I found it interesting that he wants the next QB to be a "leader", makes me wonder about Jones. Was Jones not vocal in the locker room? He also wants a Veteran QB to start next season. I think a lot of us said the same thing. To Me get Jamis Winston for 2 years. Mike Florio and Chris Simms worked my nerves a little, especially Mike Florio. I thought some of their questions were juvenile. My talk about a bet between Daniels and him? Why put a rookie in the spot of asking where he ranks himself compare to other WR from LSU?

BrownE: No surprise that he's looking for a leader. Daniels, of course, was his college QB. He's a perfect guy to ask. He would know if he thinks he sees "another Daniels" out there among this year's QB class.

IMO leadership has less to do with being "vocal" and more to do with having the "it" factor.

I'm certain Jones is everything he CAN be in the leadership department (encouraging his teammates, never letting them get down, etc.) but you don't have to be in the locker room to sense that Jones doesn't have an abundance of the special quality no one can define (not to mention problems with accuracy).

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

the stories and connecting the dots, it appears Jones led by work ethic first and foremost.  First one in and last one out of the building, studied the film, organized and hosted off season camps for offense skill positions.

Maybe incorrectly, I never got the impression he was the guy in the locker room who led men into a fight, he didn't inspire men and he didn't make others around him better.

He did what he could but the rest of the intangibles were not natural to him and he didn't have it.

So for Daboll and Nabers have listed qualities in a QB that were not Jones strengths.

Leadership is what you do on the field. Especially the QB. Can you bring the team down the field in a minute to win the game? Can you hit that 4th and 8 completion? That garners respect more than anything. Anyone can study and work hard in the gym but it's the ones who quietly win for you that are the true leaders.

The field is certainly the most important factor.
