We have been in 5 Super Bowls winning 4. I was asked by a friend if I had to make a roster of one team featuring players from all those teams rosters, who would I pick. Some are easy such as LT, Banks, Strahan Bavaro, etc. but some could be up for debate such as Phil or Eli and who would be our coach Bill or Tom, WRs, RBs, etc.

So here is my list

Offense
QB Eli Manning (Phil was great but Eli was just too clutch)
RB-Joe Morris, Tiki Barber (hard leaving Anderson off)
WRs-Plax, Nicks and Cruz
TE Bavaro
OL-C-O'Hara
T-Elliott, Snee (tough leaving out Benson)
   G-Roberts, Diehl

Defense

DE-Strahan, Marshall (tough leaving out Tuck)
  NT-Burt
  LB-LT, Banks, Carson, Johnson
  DB- Sehorn, Collins
S-- here it was tough as I looked at all the rosters, none really was all time but since I had to pick 2
     Wilson, Hill

Punter
   Landetta
   Kicker Bahr
   Kick Ret--Meggett

Head Coach
  Parcels

I don't know if this is a coincidence or not but SI just had a panel of their 3 Giants experts compile their composite roster.

QuoteBig Blue Breakdown podcast host Paul Dottino, a veteran of 42 years on the New York Giants beat, corralled multi-year Pro Football Hall of Fame media finalist Vinny DiTrani (covered the Giants for 34 years) and Patricia Traina, author of The Big 50: New York Giants (and on the beat for 30+ years), to join him in creating this All-Time Giants Super Bowl lineup.

It seemed like their decisions were based on players having a big SB.  Kind of strange.

To make it relevant to today's team.  Are there any players on the Giant's current roster you would sub in for the players on the all-time SB roster?

Sexy Dexy.

Andrew Thomas? He's another that could give these guys a run for their money.

Bonus content: former Giants who could be on the list? Saquon and McKinney.

Prime OBJ deserves some consideration! His rookie season was nothing short of impressive.

None of the players on this team played on any SB team so why mention it?

Once again, why are you mentioning guys who have never played in a SB let alone for the Giants.

All I did was post a roster that I felt was a team made up of the rosters from all our SB teams, why are people talking about Nabors, Thomas, and others? Why is anyone comparing our present roster to any of our SB teams?

I am mindful that we are a forum for a team that has been bad for over a decade.  I had researched how to keep things interesting and fun.  While it's fun to reminisce, it can be made more interesting if you try to tie the "good old days" from over a decade to nearly 40 years ago to current events.

Frankly, you did a pretty good job with your roster.  Not a lot of players to quibble with.  Plus, my memory is not that great, and I am too lazy to look up the 5 Super Bowl rosters to come up with players I feel you omitted.

I always felt bad Dave Jennings was let go a year or two before we won the Super Bowl

Did Snee ever play Tackle? I thought he was strictly a Guard.

To the best of my knowledge, Snee only played guard.
