If both the Stafford and trade up rumors are true

I am on record from the first time the Stafford rumor came out of BBI that is was complete BS.  I am less certain the trade up rumors are false.  Still, if both rumors are true, I have to agree, this would seem like more flailing around without any sort of master plan or vision.

If we'd landed Stafford we had a two year bridge to develop a rookie QB

Pretty much any other free agent/potential cut we might get half a season to a season as a bridge. The only guy who might do better is Russell Wilson but I think it is unlikely.

Having missed out on Stafford we really have to draft a QB we can roll out in an emergency with some modicum of belief that they can win games. It pretty much forces our hand to trade up IMO.
