Outside the box but possibly great NFL Offseason-

Free Agency-

QB Aaron Rodgers- The Bridge for a Qb in 2026

RB Ty Johnson- Depth, kid played his ass off on a 1 million deal, and can be the spell to Tracey.

Wr Josh Palmer- Steady boundary Wr with Slayton production.

RG Will Fries- coming off the injury he is still the best RG and we grab him here.

Swing tackle Jedrick Wills- Swing Tackle

DT Tershawn Wharton- Young enough DT that holds up well in the run and pass. Would love Milton Williams here but QB and CB1 are my splurges here.

CB Paulson Adebo- Has more upside than any corner in FA and he gets turnovers. Coming off the leg injury he could also be cheaper and he's easily the youngest high level cb on the market.

NFL Draft-
Giants trade 1.03 to the Raiders for them to select Shedeur Sanders. Giants get 1.06, 2.04(37), and 4.06(107) in return.

#6 Tyler Warren TE Penn St Could be a top 3-5 TE year 1 like Bowers last year.

#34 Walter Nolen DL Ole Miss- kid is a monster, and physical freak, stood out on an elite dline, and disrupted the pass and run.

#37 Nick Emmanwori S South Carolina- 6'3 227lb freak, 4.38-second 40-yard dash at that weight, along with a 43-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot-6 broad jump. Only safety to hit those benchmarks ever at the combine. Oh and 159 tackles, 11Pd, 2tds, and 6ints the past two years.

#65 Jack Sawyer Edge Ohio St- 3rd rotational edge that can disrupt games when it matters.

#107 Kyle McCord QB Syracuse- 2nd String Qb that we can develop.

#134 Poo Paul MLB Ole Miss- A pit bull, aggressive hard hitting sideline to sideline modern MLB. The nasty to pair with Okereke's finesse.

#155 Denzel Burke CB Ohio St. Had an up and down career at Ohio St but flashed elite traits.

New Depth chart-
*Bold Draft picks
*Itallics Free Agents

Offense-

QB- Aaron Rodgers, Kyle McCord
RB- Tracey, Ty Johnson, Singletary

LG- Runyan, Neal
C- JMS, Kubas
RG- Fries, Kubas
RT- Eluemunor, Wills

Defense-

DE- Walter Nolen, Chatman
NT- Dexter Lawrence, Nunez Roches
DT- Tershawn Wharton, DJ Davidson
LOLB- Brian Burns, Jack Sawyer
MLB1- Okereke, Dyontae Johnson
MLB2- Poo Paul, Micah McFadden
ROLB- Thibodeaux, Jack Sawyer
CB1- Paulson Adebo, Denzel Burke
CB2- Deontae Banks, Flott
Nickel- Phillips, Isaiah Simmons
FS- Nubin, Belton
SS- Nick Emmanwori, Anthony Johnson

I think with thos free agency and Draft that it would be completely different than most have envisioned for this team but could put us Right there competing immediately in the NFC. It stacks us up with young talent, and almost completes an entire defense, while giving us a great 1, 2 punch at RB, a potential top 5 WR1, and TE, with complimentary receiving prices, and a solid oline with depth. So you get this team experience, and go all in on Arch, Sellers, Nico Lamaleava, or whoever in 2026 with a ready made offense that might need an Elite WR2 but besides that is set with young talent and you have a ready made defense with an elite dline, and great secondary to Compliment that line.

So do you have any outside the box picks or signings? Would you be happy with this offseason?

J: Great work; must have taken hours; comprehensive.

I particularly like the draft.

If only.... lol

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Wow. Very well put together.

A couple of questions:
1) at 6 overall do you think there will be no shutdown corner available?
2) do you see a scenario where a trade down could also include a 2026 1st round pick?
IE When we Traded Rivers for Eli it was our 4th overall for their 1st overall and we gave up a 1st the following year.
From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Philosophers

Jess - lots of time out into it.

Free Agency - unless you know roughly market value of each FA you picked, how do you know if they fit within a team's budget and whether that amount gets them to come over?

Draft - those picks look too much like PFN Mick Draft Simulator which I think is a lagging indicator of where players will actually get drafted.  I think Walter Nolen and Nick Emmanwori have gotten themselves into the late first round.  Jack Sawyer is probably second round with his production.

MrGap92

If this were to happen, I would have a very hard time arguing about it.

Well done

I used Daniel Jeremiah's most recent top 50 and it was right in their range +/- a few. The Free Agents I did select outside of Fries are in that 2nd tier of FA, Adebo, Wharton, and Rodgers, while Johnson, Wills, and Palmer are in that third tier. So the numbers easily work especially when you consider we can clear up an additional 30-40 million if need be.

Ed Vette

Still on the Rodgers bandwagon? What's the contingency plan at QB and how does that change things?

Good work! There's some I agree with, and some I really don't like. But as a whole, it's a sound plan of attack for the draft and FA.

I disagree with the idea that we'd compete with that squad next season.

I HATE the idea of bringing Rodgers in. I despise him and wouldn't watch the team next season if he was at the helm.  If we only need a guy for 1 year, I'm fine with Russ or Mariota.

I've also advocated for Johnson and Wills, so I'm onboard with those moves.

I'm kind of 'meh' on the rest of the FAs. I don't think Adebo will come as cheap as you think, and I hate the idea of our big FA signing being someone coming off injury. Wharton and Fries are OK - not the guys I'd go after - but positionally they're good. Not a fan of Palmer.

In the draft, my preference would be to stay put and draft Hunter, but on the surface I don't hate the idea of the trade. I would hate it, though, if Warren was the pick - and I say this as someone who agrees that Warren could have a Bowers type of immediate impact. He's just a luxury that a team with this many holes at premium positions can ill afford. If we're trading down to #6, my pick would be Will Johnson.

I agree with Phil that most of your picks won't be available where you have them slotted. Nolen and Emmanwori are going in the first. Sawyer won't be there in the 3rd and Burke won't be there in the 7th.

I'm fully onboard with a QB in the 4th and think that's where the value will be, as guys like Cook and McCord are just as good as guys like Ewers who will go in the 2nd.

Guys I'd like to target are Derrick Harmon (he might go late 1st but will def go after Nolen), Tyler Booker or Grey Zabel if we got that second 2nd rounder, Jared Wilson in the 3rd.

1) Will Johnson will be the 2nd corner taken off the Board, but if we are talking the most elite prospects in this class after Hunter, Carter, and Graham then Tyler Warren, and Ashton Jeanty are right there. I'm assuming the first 3 are off the Board, so Tyler is BPA and need. I have Johnson about 6-7 spots below Warren.

2) I just dont see a 2026 1st in the cards for us sadly. If the Raiders were going from 6th to 1st then absolutely but only making the jump from 6 to 3 isn't as drastic. If it was last year with that quality of Qb, then I could see it but not with this year's class.

Yeah I was going on Jeremiah's new top 50 and the one I did have slide a little was Emmmwori and that's only because the past 7-10 drafts, teams devalue safety and a ton of the elite prospects get pushed down. I mean Kyle Hamilton was supposed to be a top 3 pick and lasted until 14 overall. Trevor Moehrig, Mckinney, Javon Holland, and others were considered top 25 prospects that didn't get taken until the 2nd round which is why I have the slide.

Jeremiah has Nolen as 30th-36th prospect right now post combine. A lot of draft sites also have Sawyer in that 55-65 range of our third round pick, and I have Burke in the 5th not 7th.

But I agree with a lot of what you are saying, I was just throwing out some alternate possibilities as it seems like we are discussing the same couple of draft Prospects and the same 2-3 top tier cb Free Agents.

I just don't know that there is a better option at Qb right now than Rodgers. I could easily see a scenario where the Giants ate left holding the bag and miss out on all the top line FA Qbs.

Wilson can't go through proper progressions for some reason now, and the games I watched of his last season were hard to watch.

Fields is too close to Jones for me as a Bridge, it does nothing to help our pass game, and would likely hurt it if that's possible.

Winston seems fun to some, but whoever signs him loses the fun immediately. It had been 6 years since he has even thrown for more than 2100 yards.

Darnold seems like it's not even an option.

The only couple guys that I'd be semi ok with would be Minshew or Mariota but those aren't needle movers, and it seems Schoen is big game hunting, and Rodgers is the biggest game currently available.

Also I really don't want to sell the farm to get the Titans pick to get Ward, and currently I don't know that Sanders is a top 30 pick much less top 3. So signing Rodgers to a 2 year deal and drafting a Mccord/Howard and still having the option to swing for a guy in 2026 if we need to seems like the best of both worlds currently.

Why do we need a top line FA QB?

We need a veteran who can run the offense, throw the ball downfield, and mentor the rookie. To me, Wilson and Winston fit the bill just fine, with as little drama as possible. The Giants need to stay off the radar and out of sight as much as possible. Bringing in Rodgers comes with additional pressure and ensures we get talked about every single week, good or bad.
