How would you feel if NYG signed...

1) Aaron Rodgers?

2) Russel Wilson?

3) Joe Flacco?

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

I don't want any of them to start.  Given that Flacco would be the only one willing to backup a rookie I'd vote for him.  But since Schoen/Daboll know they're fired if they don't win immediately thanks to an idiotic mandate from their idiotic owner, they're going to get either Rodgers or Wilson.  And of the two, I'd take the one that's not criminally insane.  But that's just my opinion.

I would argue that the issue wasn't the mandate, the issue was the mistake of not firing the two after failing to improve the team after 3 years.   When you fail to hold leadership accountable, but promise to do so in the future, you create the bad situation we are currently witnessing.

rodgers or wilson signing might [I hope] give us the opening NOT to draft ward or sanders and to use that #3 pick for for BPA or a trade down.  not sure flacco or a true bridge qb affords that.  But right now we need someone who can start at least half a season, so yes, either of the three but still do not draft sanders or ward.

The thing is look at the roster right now.  They still need a RG and obviously a QB but outside of that?  It's really pretty good.  They also have a 1st, 2nd, and two 3rd round picks.  The remaining holes should be able to be filled with those picks.  Provided they don't use a bunch of those picks to stupidly trade up to #1 anyway.  What if the draft ends up being: Hunter/Dart/OG/OG?  Or if they sign Wilson (or please God no Rodgers) what if it's Hunter/OG/OG/WR?  Is this not a pretty damn good team?  At least on paper until everybody gets hurt again?

That's why I felt it was fine to not fire them, but you can't then at the same time cut their legs out from under them by saying they have one more year to figure it out or they're all gone.  At that point yea just fire them because every decision they make from that point on isn't going to be with the best interest of the team in mind it's going to be with the best interest of themselves in mind.

Based on how they brought back the band (so to speak) on offense, I am thinking NYG is planning on trading up.  I think the Giants are anticipating having fewer draft picks than they have now.    While their O-line is lacking, it's not like there are many roster spots available along the line.   In fact, after free agency they have over 60 players on the roster and it seems like there will be limited spots for draft picks to win.

At this point I just hope next years first round pick is off the board if we do trade up.... and at most the highest is NEXT years 2nd round pick.... this year highest to give up is a third

I could see the Giants giving up their 2nd and 3rd this year and their 2nd next year (that's my best guess)

I could absolutely see them doing that.  And it would be incredibly stupid if they did.

I would prefer to draft Dart at three rather than make that trade for Ward.  I don't think the difference between Ward and Dart are worth a high 2nd and 3rd this year and a high 2nd next year.

I could not find the Justin Fields thread so I am putting my post here , sorry.

I think it was a big mistake for the Giants not to be on Justin Fields . Out of all the QBs available in FA , I think that he has the biggest upside potential . He is only 25 , a terrific runner for a QB and if he gets QB Whisperer, he could be special.

The Jets made an excellent acqisition and their OC I believe was instrumental in running the Lions offense last year.

Which scenario would you be on board with more?

1)Trading up to #1

2)Taking Dart at 3

3) taking carter/hunter at 3, then rolling the dice and using our 2nd rd pick plus our 4th to slide back into the end of the 1st assuming Dart is still there and taking him? Worst case he's gone and you take your guy in 2026.

I think easily it's number 3 by a mile.

I am torn on the subject of Fields.  On the one hand, I agree with much of what you said.  On the other hand:

Jess,

I respect your view, but I am going to pick 2.  I believe Dart will be an NFL franchise QB, and I am of the belief that if you have a prospect who you believe will be your franchise QB, you take him and don't get cute.  Hunter and Carter would be nice, but I am sure the team can get a couple of pretty good players with the 2nd and 4th pick (I am eying a quality DT to line up next to Dex with the 2nd round pick or an O-line upgrade)
