1)Trading up to #1

2)Taking Dart at 3

3) taking carter/hunter at 3, then rolling the dice and using our 2nd rd pick plus our 4th to slide back into the end of the 1st assuming Dart is still there and taking him? Worst case he's gone and you take your guy in 2026.

I think easily it's number 3 by a mile.

Add Graham to #3 (Who fills a big need)  and I choose #3

Also with #3, if the Daboll/Schoen regime is completely ousted after the 2025-26 season, you don't have as strong a tie to the QB (if you land him at the end of the 1st at all) and the next duo has much more freedom to seek their own solution than being tied to a #1 or #3 overall QB selection.

It's absolutely #3.  And if this was year one for Daboll/Schoen or if Mara hadn't mandated they win this season immediately or else he's firing everybody, I would venture to guess that's exactly what they would do.

But they are getting fired if they don't win immediately which is why they're sniffing around Rodgers' rotting corpse and Russell Wilson and it's why I don't believe they would risk doing that and have somebody else trade up into the top 10 or top 15 to take Dart ahead of them.  Which is why Mara saying what he said is idiotic.  They are no longer doing what's in the best interest of the team, they are now in a position where they need to do what's best for THEM.

Unless they pick a QB who goes on to become a franchise QB.

Then we'd all forget.

1) Rodgers-  I would be concerned.  Wink was a talented DC with a difficult personality.  Daboll was not able to handle him.  I don't see the pairing of Rodgers and Daboll going well.

2) Wilson-  I think the ceiling is a repeat of DJ 2022 where it's one read and run.

3) Flacco- I see him as a borderline starter.  If he signs it's all about the drafted QB

Of the three options, I'd take Wilson. A very high character guy who would be the best of the bunch (IMHO) at mentoring the kid(s) we end up drafting. Rogers scares the crap out of me in that he's a one-man show who wouldn't share inside secrets to a green kid cutting his teeth in the NFL. Aaron is all about Aaron. And I'd take Flacco if it was 10 years ago. He probably has kids older than the QB we draft. I know he has 3 boys and 1 girl...sounds like a family man who doesn't want to live on the road and leave family behind

Plus, I don't want to hang my team's hat on two Jets' castoffs (who are older now than when they were with the Jets). Even if we suck, my heart says we're better than feeding on the crumbs on the floor that have fallen off the Jets' table
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

Wilson in REM sleep is a better QB than Jones.

Comparing 2022 DJ with 2024 Wilson

PFF

Wilson- 79.5
DJ- 75.6

Pass Rating

Wilson- 95.6
DJ- 92.5

QBR

Wilson- 51.3
DJ- 62.9

Wilson edged out DJ in two out of three.  DJ did top Wilson by a significant margin on the QBR (the one metric he won)

So Wilson was slightly better, but another year older, and I think you end up with 2022 DJ

To actually answer the question as asked, rather than assume that someone might actually give a xxxx when instead we give flight to our personal conceits, I would be very displeased if it is Rodgers. As for the other two: Wilson or Flacco, I don't feel that it will matter much, not to me in any case, as I think of them as doing little more than delaying the positioning of what I hope will be, the as yet to be determined, Giants QB of the future.

Cheers!

Well it's after 3pm on Friday. We thought we would have a QB several days ago now.

Hey Schoen - make a move!...one way or the other make a decision and just let us know please.

We don't wanna be lost with nobody

As to Rodgers, the best I can tell from the insider reports is that the Vikings are considering signing Rodgers.  Rodgers is more than willing to wait because he prefers the Vikings over the Steelers or the Giants. If the Vikings pass, then presumably he would resume discussions with the Steelers first.

Schoen likely could sign Wilson or Flacco now, if he wishes.  One would think that he is holding out hope that Rodgers will sign.

He probably is holding out for Rodgers and it makes me sick.  I've been on board with most of Schoen's decisions but this one I cannot abide by.  Just sign Wilson and be done with this already.  NOBODY wants Rodgers around, he's not much better than Wilson if at all, and if he's around a young drafted QB he's only going to poison that poor kid.  Enough already!

Not one person here on BBH would've thought by today we still haven't signed a QB. Oh to be a fly on the wall. I want Rodgers as I feel he will play with a chip in NY and really will elevate Theo to stardom. But his diva attitude is wearing thin on me.
