I never understand this point.  So what if Ladd McConkey was picked.  Another team may have picked a better or worse player.  Means nothing.  We know valuable players exist around those picks.  The issue is picking the right one.

I don't fully understand your point.  The purpose of the exercise is to give a sense of the caliber of player that should be available to NYG at each pick.

Rich - it's only the caliber of player picked not who was available.  The pick could have been a bust but two future All Pros were sitting behind who were not selected.

I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you read is not what I meant - Robert McCloskey (if he were on this Forum)

I think I get your point, but the reality is that no one is going to be perfect at picking.  So I think it's more accurate to see who was actually picked at a given spot, what players remained on the board at that point because hindsight is 20/20

That's a generally fair point, Rich @MightyGiants  . Of course, that's relative to the depth of strength and weakness by position across the draft. If we preface each year/round by its relative strengths/weaknesses by position, maybe it conveys a deeper understanding when looking at each team and its respective record and needs vs. wants analysis for a given year.

But, from a general feel, I get the picture here and it serves its purpose just fine.

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

I think the point of the tweet is simply to give viewers an idea of how that point in the draft has played out over a number of years. As Rich said it's to give an idea of the types of players available at each point in the draft. Every draft is different obviously. I don't think the intent is to make some sort of prediction of how the pick will turn out for the Giants. More just to illustrate what the menu might roughly look like each team they're on the clock. I think it's a reasonably useful enough tweet given all the clickbait garbage that's out there right now.
