With Sander's free fall, what do you make of those rumors of NYG at 3?

How could a QB who no team seems to want be in serious consideration for the Giants at 3?   Who on the team wanted to draft him?

I just posted on fb that I had several Giants fans telling me the Giants had to take Shadeur 3rd.  Did they mean 3rd round or 3rd day?

Thought maybe D*ll*s would take him.  What is one more clown for the circus?

What casual people dont understand is that NFL teams don't start actually doing evaluations until late January and what some mocks may have in January don't hold any water.

If the Raiders don't draft him and there aren't any trades, I think he falls into the third round.

I think it was a smokescreen, or it was someone who's opinion didn't carry much weight.

If rumors are true and Sanders was given 'homework' by Daboll prior to his interview and he came in completely unprepared, that is the biggest of red flags.

And if he didn't take it seriously with the Giants, he didn't take it seriously with anyone else. It's a direct link to the thread about teams now removing guys from their board if "the love of the game" isn't there.

And as I've said for months now, Sanders loves Sanders. Sanders loves the spotlight. That's about it.

Here's the thing.  Todd McShay totally nailed what the Giants would do (draft Carter at three and trade back into round one to draft Dart).  He was one of those reporting that there was interest in Sanders on the non-coaching side of the building.  He was reporting he couldn't completely rule out the Giants taking Sanders at 3

Don't know the whos or whys or hows but I know enough to not believe anything I hear about the draft until the picks are made.

With the first pick in the 2025 Canadian Football League Draft, the Calgary Stampeders select, Quarterback Shadeur Sanders.

And how sweet would it be if it was the Mara's who were, in fact, pushing for Sanders? Seeing him crater would be the ultimate indictment of their talent evaluation and would hopefully be the final nail in their coffin to stay in their lane.

In fairness, where a player is drafted doesn't provide a reliable indicator of talent

The draft isn't perfect, for sure, and teams miss on guys. But if the Mara's wanted Sanders at 3 - and 32 teams pass on the guy two times over - what would you say that is an indicator of relative to the Mara's?

If he goes in the 4th round and ends up being a good NFL QB it would just mean that the league messed up their evaluation. Do you think all the QB needy teams who passed on Brady think their evaluation was correct because everyone else passed on him?

LennG

As far as I know the only people that had the Giants drafting Sanders, anywhere, were reporters just looking to see their names in print and Sanders himself.

I think we are all pretty knowledgeable that we can see a smokescreen when one is there.
I really don't think the Giants had any intention of drafting Sanders.

AND, I would like to know where this rumor started that Mara wanted Sanders?
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.
