The #Giants picked Toledo DT Darius Alexander at No. 65 overall at the top of the third round

The Giants overlooked a need for more interior talent and depth last season. Now they add Alexander, a 6-4, 305-pound Senior Bowl standout who was second-team All-MAC last season

Alexander spent 6 years in college and turns 25 in August. Hopefully helps the run defense immediately and continues to develop as a pass rusher

I like the emphasis up front in this draft. Giants should be giants.

Good value...solid player..huge plus for Dex..defense has a real chance to be formidable...need more trench warfare on both sides..Remaining picks hopefully add more depth on both sides. Can't complain ...I thought Alexander would have been gone.  :ok:

I am not a fan of drafting 25+ year old college prospects as they have limited physical growth and the ROI is less than ideal.

What a draft so far.  We have a DL that is as close to Eagles talent and depth as anyone in the NFL.

Ley's grab an OL player or big threat RB.

Brooklyn Dave

FRom what I read he is more of a pass rusher than a run stopper.

Maybe tomorrow we can draft Cam Skataboo

Beautiful. This draft is working out so well. We might even get a nice rb in round 4 again. They can pick a bunch of punters with the rest of the picks and I would still love this draft. Next season we wont win many games, but we will lead the leaugue in sacks and be a force on defense. It's gonna be fun to watch if the offense can even score 21 points a game.

This is the only downside to the pick. He's pretty old already.  But the value and need is perfect.

I keep hearing he flashes budget Chris Jones, and if we can get the generic Chris Jones at any point sign me up for that, and at 65 nonetheless.

I echo your sentiments exactly!

The draft is done for today for the Giants and, with the three additions they have made thus far, the defense has addressed both talent and need. The offense has tossed the dice on their future at quarterback with great conviction.

My modest expectation going in was to increase the team's talent to narrow the gap between themselves and their division rivals. We'll analyze that when the draft wraps up tomorrow, but I think it is safe to say they haven't hurt themselves so far, so good on them for a well planned and executed draft after day two!

Bring it home in style, Big Blue!

Peace!

Rich: Looks like "the guy from Toledo" (as I called him today) wasn't gone after all. You just never know!

He'll sub for Dex when a rest is needed (Dex isn't getting any younger... neither is Darius -almost 25).

Projects as a 3-technique, but is versatile. IMO, a diamond in the rough (or a Rocket on the launch pad).

PS. They are the Toledo Rockets.
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!
