Grime Time

Get busy livin ,  or get busy dying.

He gives you position flexibility. He's got a chance to be a solid guard who can give you some reps at tackle in an emergency. I preferred Frazier if they wanted a true guard or Cam Williams at tackle. Hard to complain about the pick though.

Rivers was taken right in front of the Giants.  Wonder if they would have taken Mbow if both were there.  Regardless,  solid pick.

Joe Schoen is putting on a clinic in this draft!

Schoen is really flexing his ability to draft when left to being the final decision maker!!
From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

Scouting Report: Strengths

Displays exceptional lateral agility for his size, moving with the grace of a much smaller man when pulling or reaching the second level in zone schemes
Brings a wrestler's mentality to finishing blocks, routinely driving defenders into the turf and maintaining engagement through the whistle
Shows advanced hand technique in pass protection, delivering a jarring initial punch while maintaining active hands throughout the rep
Demonstrates rare positional versatility, having started games at both guard and tackle while showing the mental acuity to handle multiple positions
Exhibits outstanding spatial awareness when working in space, consistently identifying and engaging targets on screens and pulls
Natural knee bender who maintains leverage throughout reps, maximizing his functional strength despite a relatively light frame
Possesses quick-twitch athleticism that shows up in his kick-slide, allowing him to mirror speed rushers effectively
Takes smart angles in the run game, particularly when working combo blocks and climbing to the second level

Scouting Report: Weaknesses

Lacks ideal length for tackle, with 33-inch arms that could limit his effectiveness against longer NFL edge rushers
Shows occasional tendency to drop his head on contact, particularly when dealing with quick-penetrating defensive tackles
Struggles to maintain anchor against power rushers, getting walked back into the pocket more often than you'd like to see
Weight concerns at 300 pounds could limit scheme fit, particularly in power-based run schemes where mass is at a premium
Pass protection technique at tackle remains raw, with inconsistent timing and hand placement leading to some ugly reps

Scouting Report: Summary
Looking ahead, Mbow projects as a fascinating evaluation for NFL teams. His athletic profile and versatility scream modern NFL offensive lineman, but his optimal position remains a subject of debate. In a zone-heavy scheme, he could develop into a starting tackle, though his immediate impact might come at guard where his length limitations are less exposed.

The team that ultimately selects Mbow will be getting a scheme-diverse lineman with legitimate three-position flexibility. His combination of light feet and nasty finishing attitude will endear him to offensive line coaches, while his experience in both gap and zone schemes provides valuable scheme versatility. While he may need time to develop, particularly if asked to play tackle, his ceiling as a potential starter at multiple positions makes him an intriguing day two prospect.

In an NFL that increasingly values positional flexibility and athletic traits along the offensive line, Mbow represents a new breed of lineman. His best football likely remains ahead of him, particularly if paired with a coaching staff willing to be patient with his development.

MrGap92

Verstile, can play several positions, doesn't need to start immediately, could develop into a plus starter on the OL

Very welcome addition to this draft class

Just my take but I think he could be a pro bowl center and possibly guard if developed or an average tackle.

FL GMAN

I think he can play center. IF JMS doesn't improve he could be a
potential replacement.

Watching that film, he seems to be very light on his feet for a 300 lb gorilla. A dancing bear one might say. He does appear to have a violent streak in his game. Violence is good! lol

I'm sure he'll be groomed for inside, but it's nice to have a fall back at tackle in certain occasions. Seems like a really good pickup for us. This draft is out of the world crazy this year. It's almost as if "Needs meets BPA" in every round...thus far that is
