As much as I liked Maye, the Giants came out doing well. Especially if Dart is equivalent to Maye in the long run, Greg.

It also shows the value of not going into the draft hungry for a QB and letting the process play out without panic. We were definitely in a better spot this year than last in the QB room.

And with the help of a little luck. There was always the chance they may have traded up for Ward. A chance the Steelers took Dart. We will learn more in about three years. For now, things broke just right. On the surface.

Quote from: jimc on May 23, 2025, 03:16:47 PMIt's fun to look at it that way, but Maye could have put us in the playoffs last year. We may have a better team now, but it may have taken us another year of bad football to get there. Fun thing about the if game is you can write your own script.
Maye wasn't taking anyone to the playoffs last year. The patriots had an easy schedule and Maye couldn't beat even the bad teams going 2-9. The most points he scored all season long were 24 points in a loss to the Colts. He had trouble in the Turnover department with 10 Int and 9 fumbles while averaging almost 3 sacks a game in the 11 games he played. Despite tv analysts talking up Maye, he had a very up and down season compared to Daniels, Nix, and Williams.
