I'm struggling with the level of optimism re: Hyatt. I think it's far more likely his numbers end up closer to our #4 option in the passing game vs. being the team MVP.

My pick is Dex / Burns. I think Burns will put up the showy stats and make the SportsCenter highlights, but Dex will have the biggest overall impact.

I would imagine a hybrid system. Just spitballing: give the referees clickers--they click when the believe the runner was down, its time-stamped, and its fed to the tracking system which spits out what yard line the ball was on at the time of the click, reports in the referees ears, then they spot it.

Not perfect, obviously... as do you give them all clickers? What do you do then when multiple click--do you average the click time or something like that? Maybe put someone in a booth with every camera angle and all they do is the try to determine when the runner was down?

Certainly kinks to work out in any system. But my point is really that there are very likely some solutions and probably hybrid with some human input.

With Aaron Donald's retirement, Dexter Lawrence may very well be the best DT in the NFL. He's the best player on the field most of the time they play. If they are to have any success in 2024, the defense will have to be stout and Dex will be key to that.

I always admired complete basketball players - players who played great defense, passed like a savant, set screens, helped out, made a great chest or bounce pass and scored.  Walton was that player.  Too bad he had all those foot injuries.

You want mandatory?! Let the owners and their shill (Goodell) open up the coffers, pay these players what they deserve and go back to a 16 game schedule.

Sadly, the pattern we have seen is the the owners are more than willing to sacrifice the quality of the product for more money.  That's why the owners traded away practice time for a bigger piece of the pie.   In the end, we have seen lower-quality games and a chronic shortage of offensive linemen due to the owners greed.

To the point of this post, the football season is already a long grind.  I think it's fool-hardy to eliminate the OTAs and lengthen the training camp.  I could see value in making OTAs mandatory, but not in what is being proposed.

Quote from: T200 on Today at 10:10:20 AMI would prefer a longer, mandatory training camp. This optional stuff is ridiculous. Either they want to work to build a cohesive unit or they don't.

I coach middle school baseball and I hate to say it but it cost me the 1st period of the Game 1 and all of Game 2.

Overall, the Rangers got outplayed in 3 of the 4 wins vs Boston and 1 of the 2 wins vs Florida (if not both based on the reports I have read). In that sense they are getting it done but it sure would be nice to play a full game dominating a team more consistently

As well as this playoff series has been going I would argue the Rangers have not even hit their stride. I have read they are lucky but plenty of puck luck is being had by their opponents so to focus on their luck and no other is selective criticism.

Kart- Miller has been off all year imo.  His personal issues required he pull himself from lineup 6 months ago.  He seems to exist on both ends of the spectrum, making aggressive amazing plays at times or absent minded soft play.  In the cap series he did a tremendous job against OV.  Unfortunately, this time of year on this stage 1 mistake can be the difference.  I will say in Game 3 the whole defense was chasing the Panthers.

Hoping my team gets rained out tonight so I can watch the whole game.

GO Rangers
