Would some of you rather that Jones was throwing without accuracy or velocity?  He's doing very well in the context he's in, which is the most you can hope for.  There will be plenty of time to be critical if he doesn't sustain it as the context gets more challenging.  No need to get a head start on criticizing him by dismissing what he's doing.

I'm not as down on Neal as some.  He had injury issues, was adjusting to moving to the right side, and had a terrible position coach.  That's a lot for a young man to overcome.

That was my favorite part.

Between the injuries and having to switch sides, I'm hopeful that it will come together for him.

As @Painter has been pointing out from the very start, one of the things about Barkley is that he is a boom-bust runner.  A stat I've never seen, but would like to, is median yards per attempt.  My gut feeling is that it would give a sense of the RB's consistency and would be particularly useful in comparing backs to historically great back.  My other gut feeling is that Barkley would not rank very highly by this measure.

Really?  In his first 3 years, which were his best 3 years, the Giants were 9th in fewest sacks, t4 in fewest sacks, and t3 in fewest sacks.  They've never come close to this proficiency in pass blocking in the post-Eli period, during which their league ranking in sacks allowed averaged 26th fewest.  Even in OBJ's 2 good years after his injury year the OL was middle of the road, 22nd and 19th - rankings that would mark a huge improvement if they were able to achieve that this year.

That's funny, since with better personnel (Thomas and Pugh) they gave up a higher percentage of sacks when he was under center than they did when DJ was under center.
