Here is today's question of the day.

1 out and a runner on 1st base

The runner is stealing on the pitch. The batter trying to protect the runner, swings and misses the pitch but his momentum carries him over home plate and sort of inhibits the catcher's throw to 2nd. The runner is safe at second.

Is this legal and play continues?

a---Batter stays up and the runner stays at 2nd as the batter's action wasn't intentional
b--- Batter stays at bat but the runner has to return to 1st base.
c--- Batter is out for interfering with the catcher's throw but the runner stays at 2nd
d---Batter is out for interfering with the catcher's throw and runner returns to 1st.
e-- it's a do-over

Not as bad of a period as the shots on goal indicated but not good either. They better figure things out quick....

Quote from: spiderblue43 on Today at 02:22:46 PMIt isn't worse than the Packers or Steelers, anyway. It's the 100th anniversary and it's part of their history. Roll with it.

Golly!! You mean we have a choice? 'Cause if so, I'd prefer something more like the Canton Bulldogs. :goteam:

Cheers!

Things have to break the right way as they did in 2022 to get above 7 wins. Could happen. But 6 or 7 wins seems realistic today.

Quote from: kartanoman on Today at 03:15:04 PMNFL Films did an hour "A Football Life" episode dedicated to the man. That was more than what I needed to know.

No, I choose, instead, to watch a far more meaningful production from NFL Films. A story that traces back to the foundation of the league and an individual whose legacy helped define the greatness the game in this country, and opened the door to the entire world to love and become passionate as we all have become. It is the story of the man who led the Flagship Franchise of the National Football League from its earliest days, to help shape the league for it to grow and supplant baseball as our national pastime and refine it so its possibilities remain endless. For his life of service to his Football Giants, through good times and bad, his selfless service to the NFL as a steward of its health and growth, his service to our country during World War II, his devotion as husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, many times over, he became the patriarch and conscience of the league and all owners, to include Jerry Jones, sat up and paid close attention whenever he spoke. His efforts to broker a deal with Wilson for footballs, which remains the longest contiguous contract in US Sports history, was so impressive the balls were stamped with his nickname, the title of this film in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the New York Football Giants.

No, I will pass on the Jerry Jones miniseries. Instead, I will watch a wholesome documentary with substance, "The Duke!"

Giants 100th Season

Peace!

I'd love to watch the episode about Mr Mara. Does anyone have the link?

Quote from: LennG on Today at 12:31:56 PMOver the past few years, my wife and I watch any number of shows about 'how America' was built, how Foods built America, how cars built America, Mega companies built America and now a new series has premiered, How Disney Built Ameria. There are probably others along the way, but we are facianted by some of these shows which tell us how certain companies got started, how certain name brand foods got started and built up a mass market etc. etc.

So on to Disney. As a child we grew up with Disney, we watched Mickey, we watched the Mickey Mouse Club. we had those stupid 'ears' and we also made the trek to Disneyworld (Florida). We still love the 'older' animated movies where Disney just had something special.

anyway, this new series How Disney Made America

 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt32230356/

is very good. It really goes into detail about how he started his studio, what he had to go thru to get the first animated movie Snow White onto the screen now he has just completed Disneyland, and how he got the financing to make this happen. If anyone enjoys ser ies like these, it is an excellent watch.

I've been watching this series. It's very good. Walt was a genius and could see what he thought he could do, and he proved the doubters wrong time and again. I found it amazing that his brother Roy was always negative but in the end always ending up being a great help.

Quote from: EDjohnst1981 on Today at 03:43:18 PMI put my son (10) to bed at 6pm. I've been getting him at midnight for puck drop. He loves it, sticks his Bread jersey on and wants a midnight snack with the game. I've enjoyed the playoffs as always but I'm just not relaxed about it.

My Mrs also gets up and watches it with us- she felt like she was missing out after all the noise during the Washington series!

Fantastic!!
