Mayim is smart, no doubt, but one celebrity with a scary high IQ is Goldie Hawn...who'da thunk it  :-??

Goldie was famous for her role playing a ditzy blonde...a role she hated, but it put food on the table. Her IQ is 148 and qualifies for the Mensa Society (must have IQ in top 2% of population).

Even smarter than Goldie, is another celebrity who played a ditzy blonde: Lisa Kudrow with an IQ of 154

Highest IQ measured of a person everyone knows: British comedian Rowan Atkinson (plays ditz "Mr. Bean" who has an IQ 178). That's higher than Einstein and Stephen Hawkings. Another genius is Dolph Lundren (played the boxer against Balboa in Rocky IV) who worked as a bouncer while earning degrees from Royal Institute of Technology (BS chemistry); University of Sydney (MS chemical Engineering); Washington State University (MS) and was working on his PhD at MIT when he quit school and chose acting for a career. His IQ is 165. Another guy who plays an idiot, but has a high IQ is Ken Jeong, who was a medical doctor before switching to comedy and acting. He has his degrees from Duke and the UNC School of Medicine, and practiced medicine for several years as a physician in Oakland, CA at a huge hospital (Kaiser Permanente)

Smart people hide among us...and some of them are getting rich by playing a ditz or playing a brute...or being a model or musician. Must be good money in getting celebrity status, lol

I wasn't planning on watching this, because I knew it would be disturbing, but I finally did it anyway, and man was I right about the disturbing part. I hope this coward goes to prison for this, plus other terrible things he was allegedly involved in like human trafficking.

Violence towards women is never ok. Nor is seeing it in one's household as a kid an excuse, so I don't even want to hear that. While watching this footage is highly unpleasant, my hope is it will encourage other victims to take action against their abuser.

Fair enough, if that's his point of view but I think we've learned from last year not to glean anything from the pre-season, let alone OTAs and mini-camp.

But I'd have to meet them all to decide who I'm talking about... looks would be secondary.

If you find that difficult to believe, I don't blame you... but I'm serious.

.   In your opinion, given the current roster with all the new additions, what style of play do you think we have to have in order to consistently win games?  Does it come down to the usual bylines...effective run game, play action pass on offense, and bend but don't break on defense?  Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Quote from: coggs on May 18, 2024, 01:20:00 PMYes and no.  The doom and gloom of Rangers fans is just tiring.  Up 3-1, have a bad game and everyone sucks.  The GM sucks for not trading for a top-6 forward (because that worked out well last year).  Rangers fans expect them to win every game by 4+ goals, score the first two goals of every game in the first 5 minutes.  Never allow the opponent to get closer than 1 goal.  Score on every PP, kill every penatly.  Win the Corsi battle 95-5, have every zone entry result in a HDSC and a goal.  I could go on and I am only slightly exaggerating.

Here are their results this year:  https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/NYR/2024_games.html

They literally had ONE losing streak of more than 2 games.  It was a 4-gamer that started with a SO Loss.  Aside from that, only 5 times where they had back-to-back losses and in 2 of those cases there was a SO/OT loss.

I would say this thread has been almost nothing but a cascade of high praise this year, so unless you're referring to other Rangers fans outside of this thread, I would say the above is a misrepresentation or, at best, a wild exaggeration. I can think of a number of occasions this season where the Rangers had a bad night, and people here generally had the attitude of "rough night, but no big deal. Shake it off and move on to the next one."

The bottom line is fans know this team is very talented, and so expectations are naturally very high. Fans also recognize that the top of the Eastern Conference is highly competitive, but regardless, if the Rangers' final game in this postseason is a loss, people are unquestionably going to be disappointed for a period of time. I would not say that makes them gloom and doom mongers or disloyal or unfair fans. It makes them fans that were optimistic about their team given its roster and coaching who didn't quite get the outcome they were hoping for. Nothing wrong with that. They're still loyal, good fans who are not going anywhere.

As a means of comparison, I am also a Knicks fan. I have been nothing but delighted with the season they have had relative to expectations and considering their severely bad injury luck this year, but in no way do I expect them to go any further than the Eastern Conference Finals (if they make it). I just happen to feel the Rangers have a higher ceiling than that.

Scottie's lawyer says that if they don't drop the charges they will go to trial.  And based on what he said, the apology should go in the other direction.

Quote from: uconnjack8 on May 18, 2024, 10:47:40 AMI agree and think part of the issue is the changing of schemes from one regime to another that we brushed on in another thread.  The OL has at times been a mish-mosh of guys suited for different schemes and no theme to it.

I noticed that the guys they signed to start this year both had better pass blocking grades than running blocking, so maybe they are trying to get a group that matches finally.  At least I hope it is

That seems to be a problem we often hear about mismatching a player to scheme.  Just wondering.
