This makes a lot of sense to me. The video is 10 minutes long. He brings up very solid points

The Free agent is Jermaine Eluemunor, who plays both RT and has played Guard.

His last team was the Raiders and our new offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo has history with him

Neal needs to be pressured and has to earn the starting job and Jermaine will give Even a run for his money

Jermaine Eluemunor is in our budget, listed at 6 million a year, but like the guy said the market might slide that up to as high as 10

Ok....please hear me out.

What do we have roster wise? And I mean the whole team. What do we have? The answer is not much. Holes everywhere. But what if we use our 6th overall pick to get the best player available and still get a QB, that could be a boom or bust with little risk? Sounds good? Yeah, to me too....

Here is how the draft (as of right now) will probably play out:

1. CHICAGO BEARS (VIA CAR): QB CALEB WILLIAMS, USC

2. WASHINGTON COMMANDERS: QB DRAKE MAYE, NORTH CAROLINA

3. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: QB JAYDEN DANIELS, LSU

4. ARIZONA CARDINALS: WR MARVIN HARRISON JR., OHIO STATE

5. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: WR MALIK NABERS, LSU

There it is.... all the "best QBs and WR's" gone.

To me the Giants have two options (and one of them is NOT reaching for a QB) the remaining QBs are Penix, Nix and McCarthy, none worth the 6th overall and add to the fact we are on the hook with Jones and Devito for 2024. The only options are select Rome Odunze or one of the top O-linemen.

The 2nd option (and my choice) is to trade our pick with a team desperate for a QB. Hello Denver or Minnesota (it is said they are in love with Penix), we could also see if Atlanta wants our pick, but rumor has Kirk Cousens going there. If this happens, we will get more picks and at 8,11, or 12 we still would get a very good player.

There are a few Giant sites and people I follow...Maddog ,Bobby Skinner, Patricia Traina and Fireside Giants.

Fireside Giants had a podcast recently and their guest was a former NFL scout for the Jets, yes, the Jets (I can hear it now) Anyways the "scout" Daniel Kelly, breaks down the top three QBs in this upcoming draft, it's very interesting to me. Regardless to how you feel about it, it really doesnt matter, because when we pick the top three will most likely be gone, unless we trade up.

For those of you that don't have time to listen.... I will summarize the video

He thinks Williams will be a bust (me too)

He has concerns over Maye (stats down)

Jaylen Daniels he seems to like but points out positives and negatives. Basically, not a sure thing.

Spoiler Alert: He likes.....Spencer Rattler. And it got me thinking. Yes, why not? IMO he would be an instant upgrade over Devito, he can sit most, if not the entire year (like green bay dose their QBs) and it would allow the Giants to build the roster without burning a high pick on a QB and let Brian Daboll mentor a young CAP friendly QB.

SPENCER RATTLER SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS

Has excellent overall arm strength you would expect a consensus five-star prospect

Is excellent when on the move and has the arm talent to make throws most college-level QBs wouldn't even attempt

Despite being viewed as a mobile quarterback Rattler is skilled as a pocket passer and has a nice feel for pressure

Sprays the ball anywhere on the field, especially when given a pocket from which to deliver. Will step up into pocket while looking downfield, reset his feet and deliver.

Just to name a few

SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES

At 6-1 and roughly 215 pounds, Rattler doesn't fit the traditional QB mold. Durability concerns loom

Out, injured and personal reasons.

Chiefs star Kadarius Toney is ruled OUT of AFC Championship game against the Ravens due to 'personal
reasons'

And more

Kadarius Toney's Kansas City future is cloudy, at best

I get the feeling it's their way of phasing him out.

Its freaky how lucid and aware they are of their own situation but seem either completely unable or completely disinterested in rectifying it, instead they just tell people to stay away and save themselves.

This season seems worse than 2017, We just made the playoffs and were hoping to take big step forward. Year 3 for Flowers. And we played Dallas first game. 3rd&3 and Flowers gets blown by for a sack. The whole season lit up in flames on first drive. Again, with Neal I feel worse. Flowers pick 9 and Neal picked 6th.You want to know the sad part? Both Dallas and Philly put together their vaunted O lines with largely second round or lower picks. lots of teams use only one pick in the 1st round for the offensive line. What the fork or we doing so wrong?!? IMO they should MOVE HIS ASS TO LG

We take a look back at Neal's college tape and see where the drop-off in his performance happened.

Let's start this breakdown by returning to his roots at Alabama. This time, we focus on his 2020 season, where he played right tackle for the tide. In the CFP Championship against Ohio State, we saw Neal perform against high-level competition.

The Alabama offense was not predicated on a bunch of straight drop-back passes, but you can see what he could get away with because he was a superior athlete to the competition.

He had a tendency to open his hips and shoulders, but most collegiate edge rushers could not get around him in time to impact the play. He would also hold his hands high, which resulted in his hand placement being higher up on the defender's shoulders than you would recommend.

As a pro, those things he got away with at Alabama have returned to bite him. The NFL uses a lot more wide 9-tech edge rushers and the speed rush as its primary pass-rush weapon. So Neal has to kick slide faster and cleaner to combat this rush.

When he opens the gate (turns his hips and shoulders), he sets an edge that the defenders use to get around him. His high hand placement also allows them to fake high, duck under his pass pro punch, and use hand fighting to knock his hands away. The result has been more consistent pressure on the quarterback whenever the defender can attack Neal's upfield or right shoulder.

It also sets up the counter off the speed rush, where the defender works back inside. Because Neal has to get his massive frame moving in one direction, he is not always balanced to post back down after his kick slides. He ends up chasing. These clips against Arizona and Miami illustrate the issues.

Big Blue Huddle / Odell Beckham Jr. rip the Giants
January 19, 2024, 09:37:33 PM
Is there validity to what he is saying?

Watch Odell Beckham Jr. rip the Giants over Cleveland trade out of nowhere

Odell remains unhappy about Dave Gettleman trading him

Odell Beckham called out the Giants for trading him to the Browns in 2019
"There's a bit of me that feels like the Giants - and I've said it before - sent me off to Cleveland to die. I could have went to the 49ers, I could have went to the Patriots, I could have went to teams that had a chance to be great and that's not what their desire was. Their desire - you can't tell me that this was the best trade package we could get for you. No, you're desire was to, you know, kind of fu** me over a little bit."

Basically, we need to trade up and let him sit

For me its five decisions for FA

1- Can the Giants Bring Back Saquon Barkley?

2-Do the Giants Invest in Isaiah Simmons Long-Term?

3-Do the Giants Pursue a Top Receiver in Free Agency?

4-What to do with Darren Waller

5-Who can we afford to add on the O-line? And should it be a RT or Guard?

Whoever the Giants pick as defensive coordinator. When interviewing the next defensive coordinator, one of the questions should be "How would you use a player like Isiah Simmons?"

Did The Philadelphia Eagles Make a Mistake By Letting Dennard Wilson Go?

Under Wilson, the Eagles secondary thrived, with many players including C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Avonte Maddox and Marcus Epps playing the best football of their careers. However, he was passed up for the job and while it was reported that he would be fine staying in his current position, he was fired.

Now, Wilson serves as the defensive backs coach for the Baltimore Ravens. Last season, Philadelphia had the top defense in terms of passing yards allowed per game while Baltimore sat at 28th in the NFL. This year, with Wilson switching teams, the Ravens passing defense has jumped up to fourth in the same stat as the Eagles dropped to 23rd.

I admit I watched no games this weekend (this was my turn to work at the hospital all weekend and way too busy to watch anything thing) I did record the game and plan to watch it later. I know we won cause someone there told me ~X(  ~X(

Anyways, to me. It looks like we will most likely miss out on Maye, Williams and Daniels because of where we pick.  So, WHAT is the problem with waiting until 2025 to draft our QB?

IMO we could use in the 1st round

1-EDGE to pair with Thibodeaux (Ojulari has been proven undependable)

2-WR we need a true #1 to go with Robinson and Hyatt

3-CB lets be honest, in todays NFL, its become a passing league AND there is no such thing as too many CBs

I agree we need a QB, but in no way are we a QB away from being good. We are stuck with Daniel Jones for one more year like it or not. And drafting any of the top 3 QBs in this draft doesn't guarantee he will not be a bust. In fact it seems odds favor a bust than a star.

In the 2nd round we can add RB, TE, RG and maybe a swing tackle?

I am against trading up because we need all the picks we can and like I said before...we are not one player away from being any good.

We should just roll with Jones, DeVito and some Vet QB in FA

If our team falters again next year (I would imagine more of the same) then our record would reflect that and that would give us a high pick and we could get our guy then. In the mean time...this draft we could plug in players in positions we desperately need.

Am I wrong.?

Is Bo Nix Oregon's Best Football Player Ever?

Carefully Considering How Nix Finished the 2023 Season
If you look at Nix's season stats, how he closed his time in Eugene is a night-and-day difference from how he started it. In his last five games to close out his career at Oregon, Nix threw for 1,785 yards, 20 touchdowns at a 76% completion rate, and only one interception. That completed a season in which he threw for more touchdowns than in his entire 3-year career at Auburn, and more touchdowns in a season than any quarterback Oregon's ever seen. Additionally, not only did he elevate his game as a Duck, he laid his body on the line for the team week after week.

I think we should draft a QB in this upcoming draft, no matter what. But it may not be what you are thinking. Looking at our QB situation...It is painfully obvious to me that the QBs on our roster are NOT the answer moving forward. The "cutlet" story was a cute one and much needed during our awful season this year, but that is all it was: a cute story.

We are stuck with Jones for 2024. Thats a fact. When we pick in the draft...and if the top 3 QBs are gone, IMO we should without a doubt take the best player available. We need game changing players at almost every position.

I do think that after round 1, should a QB fall to the 2nd round (Bo Nix, Quinn Ewers, or J.J. McCarthy) it might be a good idea to draft one.

As the later rounds come, round 4 in particular, I would look hard for a QB with the best upside. It makes sense to me. Taylor will probably be gone next year and I think we have seen the best of what Devito brings us.

We might strike gold and at the very least have a cheap back up for years to come. Guys like Joe Milton III, Michael Pratt, and Spencer Rattler would be better options than "cutlets"

Big Blue Huddle / Is it time to move Evan Neal to LG?
December 31, 2023, 08:17:04 PM
Bad coaching? Bad feet? I am not sure what it is, but its not working. One thing is for sure...we need a new offensive line coach. If you were in charge would you move Neal to LG and draft a TRUE right tackle in the draft?

Big Blue Huddle / Time to move on from Saquon Barkley?
December 26, 2023, 02:04:26 PM
For the next season, is it time to move on? This team is so bad and needs a major revam, whats the point to paying an aging RB? Time to move on?
#75
The  fact that we are throwing a Hail Mary to Barkley is a tall tell sign that we are void of
talent

Big Blue Huddle / Our team is poorly coached
December 25, 2023, 06:24:24 PM
I understand there's a lot more to it.....talent wise we definitely are deficient as compared to most NFL teams. It's clear as day. We are not a few players away and it's gonna take a long time. My biggest concern is how poorly this team is coached...... in my opinion it's not a good idea to keep firing coaches and starting over and over and over again but this team is so bad I think the right move would've been taking an established coach to turn things around. We are so bad as a fan I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel, at least not in the near future .
#77
Looking at the pre draft scouting reports, especially the weakness....it looks like walter football was right.

Weaknesses:
Can have problems with speed rushers

Not a gifted athlete

Can stand up too high
Feet can get stuck in pass protection

Does not have left-tackle feet

Has change-of-direction issues

Has problems redirecting versus inside stunts

Here is what an area scout said about Neal, "He's big, long, heavy-handed. He's not a gifted athlete; he's just so d*** big. He's a power guy. His feet worry me, and he doesn't have NFL left tackle feet. He has to win with body range and length. I would start him at right tackle and if that doesn't work kick him inside to guard."

Neal could end up as top-10 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and he should go as one of the first 20 choices. If enough NFL teams feel Neal can stay at left tackle, that would help his chances of going high in the first round.

Actually, we do need a quarterback..... the above title of the thread is the ultimate paradox. Yes, we do need a quarterback I don't think Jones is the guy are used to like him a lot and I still do as a person but I just don't see it. However, we are stuck with him next year like it or not and as far as DeVito, I don't think he's a QB1 either.

Watching these past few games, it's painfully obvious we need more than just a quarterback. I am 100% in the camp of just getting the best player possible when we pick.. we need help all over the team AND somehow if we are lucky enough to be able to draft William, Maye or Daniel's..... when we are up in the first round, I would trade that pic with any other team in desperate need of a quarterback to acquire as many draft picks as we can get.

The Front Porch / CHICKEN CUTLETS
December 15, 2023, 03:49:17 PM
This recipe for Crispy Italian Breaded Chicken Cutlets is the best you'll ever have! Thin slices of chicken breast are breaded with a homemade seasoned breadcrumb mixture then pan fried in extra virgin olive oil to get super crispy and flavorful.

At this point, it looks very unlikely we will be in position to draft Maye, Williams and Daniels. It seems to me that Jones is not "the guy" and as for DeVito...it a nice story, but I don't see him as a QB1. We will ride with Daniel Jones next year, Taylor is most likely gone.

As far as our 1st round pick, I am all on board to get the best player available. But would it make sense to draft a QB based on potential in round 2 or beyond? Knowing he will have the opportunity to sit Behind Jones and DeVito for the entire year?

Quinn Ewers or Michael Pratt or Carson Beck ?

Report: Robert Kraft made decision to part ways with Bill Belichick after Week 10 loss to Colts

At a time when many believe the 24-year relationship between Patriots owner Robert Kraft and coach Bill Belichick will soon be ending, a new report indicates that the decision already has been made.

Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston, via Hayden Bird of Boston.com, said Monday that Kraft already made the decision to make a change after New England's Week 10 loss to the Colts in Frankfurt.

"When they came out of Germany, conversations I had that week made it very clear that a decision was made," Curran said. "They were going to play out the string, and at the end of the year, there would be a parting of the ways for a variety of reasons."

Big Blue Huddle / A NEW draft simulator

All teams have injuries all of them. But why is it when other teams have to refer and turn to their back ups their team still look potent? What the hell are we doing? We've seen many quarterbacks go down in these past few weeks some today and yet their team seemed to still have that spark and I'm sorry to say the same teams with their wounded starting quarterbacks and players I get the feeling they would beat us somehow.

What the hell are we doing wrong and what have we been doing wrong in the past decade it seems

#84
Again, haven't watched much LSU at all this season. Watch I have been hearing about Malik Nabers, seems like he will be a top 7 pick, some have said he is better than Harrison Jr. Anybody watch LSU?

Also, since it looks like LSU has two WRs that will go in the 1st and the other late 1st early 2nd, does this tarnish Jayden Daniels hype in the upcoming draft?

#85
According to the article, three things the coaches were counting on needed to happen, but they didnt.

1-First thing was the line's health, and because of Thomas injuries and other linemen past injuries this was a foolish decision.

2-Depending on the improvement of Neal, their second-year right tackle. Banking that Neal's struggles as rookie were normal and  naturally he would improve automatically in year 2.

3-Indecisiveness and continuity-  getting the offensive line settled, this is where the coaches had their biggest failure. The Giant never settled on a starting five early enough to allow those players to develop continuity.

Love seeing stuff like this

#87
If teams move on from some of these guys. Would you go after any of these men, regardless of what we do with Jones for 2024 season. Some might be better than Jones, Some better than Taylor or Devito?

Wilson, Zach (looks done with Jets)

Mayfield, Baker

Fields, Justin (if the Bears move on)

Murray, Kyler (if Arizona drafts a QB)

Willis, Malik

Corral, Matt

Or any others you guys can think of.

#88
Still early, but as of now what QB class was better? The 2019 draft or 2021?

2019

Kyler Murry

Daniel Jones

Dyane Haskins

Drew Luck ( really a 2nd rounder, but for awhile was considered a top 1st rounder)

2021 draft

Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round — Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones — the second highest number of first-round quarterback selections (along with the 1999 and 2018 drafts) after the six selected in 1983. The draft also marked the third time the first three picks (Lawrence, Wilson, and Lance) were quarterbacks, following the 1971 and 1999 drafts. A total of eight quarterbacks were selected in the first three rounds, the most in NFL Draft history. Conversely, only two quarterbacks were taken in the remaining rounds.
#89
Very interesting

#90
Fair or not? Does this effect his draft position? What is your thoughts? Is he strong enough to handle the media in Gotham?
Out of all of my years watching college and professional football, I've never seen a starting QB, let alone a HEISMAN winner, run off to the stands, jump the wall to cry on his mother's shoulders.
