Quote from: DaveBrown74 on June 01, 2024, 06:42:54 AMAt least, that is my opinion anyway, and I feel that way about both our offense and defense.
Offensively, adding in Nabers will give us that electrifying, explosive pass catching threat this team hasn't had since Beckham in his first few years prior to his injuries and decline. No matter what you think of our QB room, this guy is going to be thrilling to watch.
I also think some of our other receiving talent like Robinson and Hyatt will be "unlocked" to some degree due to this guy being on the field. Expect to see both of them dazzle at times and take noteworthy steps forward this season.
Meanwhile it will be interesting to watch some of other young guys, particularly Tyrone Tracy and Theo Johnson. Both have potential to flash as rookies.
And then defensively, one thing I know is that when you have a menacing pass rush, things happen on D. Adding a stud like Burns to play opposite the ascending Thibodeaux, with Dex in the middle and with Okereke right behind them will give us a scary front that should be incredibly fun to watch.
Don't get me wrong - I think this team still has significant talent and depth deficiencies at a number of positions and is a ways away from being a true contender, but I am pretty confident that they will be more fun to watch this year, and there is something to be said for that.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 17, 2024, 01:53:25 PMWhen has anyone that is an actual giants fan in this forum rooted against Daniel Jones? Ever...
Quote from: Uncle Mickey on April 28, 2024, 11:52:27 AMMitch would have been somewhere between QB5 to QB7 of this draft
Quote from: Brooklyn Dave on April 27, 2024, 10:29:26 PMInstead of drafting Tracy in the 5th round do you think the Giants should have drafted Rattler, Platt or Travis instead ? Wouldn't that have more sense? Actually I am not sure if the Jets had drafted Travis in the 4th round
Quote from: DaveBrown74 on April 27, 2024, 08:13:49 PMIt's all subjective obviously. Anyone can call a draft outstanding the day after it ends but that can prove totally untrue down the road, and vice-versa. Given how the Giants have drafted for the past decade, I don't think I would hand them an "outstanding" grade the day after the draft under almost any circumstances. They are going to need to prove it to me with these guys panning out on the field before I start trusting them to that degree. There have just been too many drafts in recent years that have woefully disappointed.
I guess if they had found a way to get a trade done to get Drake Maye, and I didn't think it was so absurd that I was opposed to it on that basis, I might have given them an "outstanding" provided I didn't hate any of the other picks. I happen to be very high on Maye's ceiling and would have been willing to take the gamble on him if it were possible. Apart from that I don't think I would have considered it.
Quote from: DaveBrown74 on April 27, 2024, 04:55:59 PMI went with average.
We are a way below average team that has generally had way below average drafts, so average is good for us right now. I'll need to see it to believe it for me to think this draft was better than average. I have plenty of confidence that Nabers will be a very good player, but any of us could have made that pick. The real measure will be all the other picks.
