I have seen Lion, several years ago and it was just a terrific watch. I probably wrote a glowing review in the movie thread we have. EXCELLENT movie and I believe a true story.
I'm pretty sure I've also seen Walk in the Woods, but I just can't recall the plot lines. That one does sound interesting enough to give it a watch.

On a side note, I downloaded the Peacock streaming ap. Many of the shows are free. There is a British Drama called Save Me and it stars Lenny James who plays Morgan in the Walking Dead. Lenny James's acting is fantastic. The show is pretty good. The one drawback is the accents are a bit thick and it's sometimes hard to understand what the actors are saying.

The Way Back: A handful of prisoners including one American(Ed Harris) and a thug(Colin Ferrell) escape a harsh Siberian prison camp and trek 900 miles through mountains and deserts to reach freedom.
Transsiberian: Woody Harrelson plays an innocent and naive husband that just completed a missionary trip with his wife in China. They decide to take a side trip on the Transsiberian railroad before they go back to America. They meet a young couple on the train that turn out to be shady. Harrelson and his wife get tangled up in danger, drug dealers and crooked Russian Cops.

This Triangle, what's the difference between this and any other 'slasher' type movie? You know, the poor good looking kids get killed off one by one and each in a different way. Gosh, if I were a serial killer and after a group of kids, why would I need to kill each one in a different way?
Anyway, not my type of movie.

I happen to mention that particular movie as I consider it my favorite all-time movie. I am a HUGE Bogart fan and anything he was ever in, I have watched. Obviously some better than others, but I am a sucker for this 'film noir' and the mystery/crime dramas. Put Bogart in them with some excellent supporting cast members, and I can catch that movie every week.

One of Bogart's greatest is "The Maltese Falcon. TCM is sponsoring its big screen showing in selected theaters in just a week or so. Check it out on TCM.com & find out if its in a theater near you.
Bogart disparaged most of his movies. But, when somebody asked him about "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre," he said, "Yeah that one was pretty good." Check out that one; it's usually on TCM now & again.
squibber: If you haven't seen The Engagement Ring and have access to Amazon Prime I highly recommend it if you like a good comedy with a bit of "romance" thrown in for good measure.
I don't know which other platforms where you can view it free, but I'm sure there are a few. It's from 2005.... the jokes are numerous and IMO none of them fall flat.....

I liked it particularly because I grew up with people like those portrayed (and more than a few are/were family members).
The characters are of Italian descent in the movie, but you don't have to be "very Italian" to have (or have met) people like this in your own family.

The Good Neighbor - This is a good movie. James Caan plays a creepy old hermit. Across the street from him are two teens that are into
Squib: I finally got to watch "Tracks" on Tubi and want to thank you for the recommendation.
My wife and I both liked it very much, and she didn't fall asleep even once, which (in itself) constitutes a "five-star" rating! LOL
Even if it weren't a true story (which it is) it would have been well worth watching, along with an admirable performance from by Mia Wasikowska.
Must have been a labor of love, because making that movie could not have been fun for her.
I understand why you noted that it was somewhat "slow-moving" but IMO that added to the "feel" of the viewing experience (which I believe was intended to emphasize the length and grueling nature of the journey).

Whitewash - Another quirky Thomas Haden Church movie. Thomas plays a loner in a small Canadian town. One night while drunk, he runs over his house guest with a snow plow. Thomas panics and drives off the road and into the woods. He drives and drives until he crashes and passes out. He wakes up in the middle of the snowy forest not knowing where he is.
Forget About It - Stars Burt Reynolds and Charles Durning. The movie is a silly poorly written comedy about three retirees who find a suitcase full of mob money. If you are nostalgic and like Burt and Charles(Raquel Welsh too), this movie is watchable. Some occasional good laughs.
Woman on the Fifth - This eclectic drama stars Ethan Hawke as an author who flies to Paris to try to make up with his estranged wife. She rejects him and he is crushed. While falling asleep on the bus, his money and suitcase is taken. He wanders into a run down cafe/hotel where the shady owner allows him to stay. Ethan begins an affair with a woman he met at an artsy social event. She may not be who she seems. The movie is mostly in French with English subtitles. I didn
Journey
Empathy, Inc. - A decent low budget scifi movie filmed in black and white. A down on his luck Silicon Valley exec runs into an old associate that tells him about his new start up. The start up offers virtual reality to well to do clients that allows them to experience what it is like to be poor and struggling. The purpose is to help clients feel better about their lives. The down on his luck guy convinces his father in law to invest his life savings into the start up but he slowly realizes the company has ulterior motives.
10 Items or Less - This movie isn
Cartel Land - Good documentary about two vigilante groups fighting the Mexican cartels. Warning, it shows decapitated heads. The first vigilante group is a bunch of Americans patrolling the border. The second group is far more interesting. A Mexican doctor forms a vigilante group and they clear the cartel out of nine nearby towns. Looks like a success story but things get very complicated.
The Domestics - A low brow violent post apocalyptic survival movie. The world is crop dusted with a deadly chemical that kills the vast majority of people. The new world is much like that in the Walking Dead. A young couple must travel through several dangerous gang lands to reach the woman

1919 - The Cabinet of Dr Caligari - Ceaser the Zombie! classic post WW! German effort that is stunning
1916 - Intolerance - billed at the time as the greatest motion picture ever made (not many made at that point lol) its 4 stories woven together with an incredible ending. a bit long tho..something like 4 hours
1920 - Der Golem - Paul Wagners Statue comes to life. remade in 1967 starring Roddy Mcdowell in "It"..1920's version was remake of 1914's lost in the war.
1925 - The Battleship Potemkin - Eisentsteins masterpiece of failed 1905 Russian Revolution. I had to write a paper for my Film class final in Rutgers. I chose this. Eisenstein shows a ruthless smiling russian soldier chopping the heads off flowers in the city interspliced with same smiling soldier chopping heads off of humans during battle. This scene is often used to show the oppression of the Russian people under the Czar, destroying the city and its peoples as punishment and why the revolution finally happend in 1917.

Targets - 1968 - Boris Karloffs last movie filmed before dying. An elderly horror film star, while making a personal appearance at a drive-in theatre, confronts a psychotic Vietnam War veteran who has turned into a mass-murdering sniper. Peter Bogdonavich directed
Duel - 1971 - Dennis Weaver - Steve Speilbergs "Road Rage" movie. Check it out if you have not, its something that 50 years later, most of us have probably experienced to a degree. very very powerful and well shot. a favorite of mine since I was a kid
Race with the Devil - 1973 - Warren Oats/Peter Fonda entry. Two Families take camper on camping trip in Texas. they witness murder. they are then chased by Devil worshipers. very scarey to a 10 yr old at the time. now, its rather silly in places

Bob: that's great! Chaplin, Keaton and Harold Lloyd are the trio of comics that were kings, and Fatty Arbuckle was the prince.
Check out Harrold Lloyds 1923 masterpiece "Safety last"...it is one that will take the breath away...hint, its about the human fly explosion of the 1920's and climbing tall buildings. Lloyd did all his own stunts, much like Keaton and Chaplin. yet Keaton & Chaplin never did this daring of a movie with life on the line during any scene. breathtaking

1969 - Take the Money and Run - Woody Allen, well after the swimmer I had to lighten the moment. IMO Woddy Allens finest is his first. The story of Virgil Starkwell the most unsuccessful bank robber in the world. "Mary Hartman Mary Hartman" Louise Lasser plays his whiny wife. Done narration style. I laugh from start to finish with this one, The only Woody Allen movie that I do.
1979 - over the edge - Matt Dillions first movie, this was banned in most states/cities in the USA. This was life for some of us in the boring suburbs. Whereas 1982' "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" was just like my SR Year, over the edge was just like my Sophomore year. The power of this movie cannot be denied. It shows everything wrong with what our parents thought was the "perfect" place to live. Filmed outside of Denver, it could have been filmed anywhere suburbs in the USA.

The bank robbery scene where 2 groups of bank robbers show up and Woody has the crowd vote on who they would rather rob them, is about as silly as it gets! or the deputy and the old women, when she tells him the obvious "those are the escaped convicts" and he replies deadpanned "I thought you were just a close family"... that movie never stops the laughs...and it was released on the heels of the very serious and great bank robbing movie "Bonnie & Clyde". I wonder if that why its an overlooked film and not as popular as "Sleeper" or many of his films? its hysterical

The Hero - This is a good movie. Sam Elliott is excellent as an unhappy washed up 71 year old actor. He is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has to come to terms with his mortality. He strikes up a romance with a free spirited much younger woman and he tries to mend his relationship with his daughter. I think this movie is Sam Elliott

Take the Money and Run--I fully agree with everyone else's assessment, just a hilarious movie from start to finish. Gosh, I haven't thought about this movie in years, but once reminded, I am smiling to myself, just thinking of certain parts. Like when his parents are being interviewed and they are wearing those silly disguises, the gun to break out of prison made of soap, and then it rains and yes, Louise Laser is special in this movie. (PS__I was a HUGE fan of Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, never missed an episode)
The Swimmer--I still remember seeing this movie while I was in the Air Force, in Germany, in one of the 'movie nights' they had for recently released films. I hated it, thought it was so stupid and boring, and have never wanted to re-see it. I love Lancaster, but this movie, Bah Humbug.

Well we're both wrong, it's egg salad according to Wikipedia.
Allen took a Japanese spy film, International Secret Police: Key of Keys, and overdubbed it with completely original dialogue that had nothing to do with the plot of the original film. By putting in new scenes and rearranging the order of existing scenes, he completely changed the tone of the film from a James Bond clone into a comedy about the search for the world's best egg salad recipe.

I remember someone in the movie saying something like whoever has the best egg salad recipe will rule the world. Woody is the master of silliness and I think he was trying to get a laugh juxtaposing something silly with something opposite like world domination. Comic writers call it clash of context.
So egg salad it is.
That said, my darling wife makes a 'mean' egg salad herself, so should she be worried????? =)) =)) =))

You are not alone here, Lenn. I have seen both Brian's song and Pride of the Yankees, but for me I avoid "tearjerkers" and "Bucket List" Movies.
In my view, there is enough drama, sadness and bad news in everyday life, so when I watch a tv show or a movie, I don't want it to be a "downer".
I am very lucky and very happy with the life I have, so please don't misunderstand that what I wrote above was anything personal about me, but just a general statement about how I view things. I want my "entertainment" to make me feel good & keep me engaged.

ozzie: "The Bucket List" IMO is a top movie, excellent cast. I watched it all the way through to the very end (including the credits) and found it to be uplifting rather than anything with a negative connotation. Bob

squib: It's a good movie. I think it is a straightforward ending, as it includes an explanation in the form of audio clips of "news reports" of the prisoner's escape. I don't think the final shot is intended to suggest that this is simply another "virtual reality escape" that will end with him back in the cell. On the other hand, the alternate meaning is not completely out of the question. Bob

For the scify fan I highly recommend the miniseries The Lost Room on tubi. If you liked Warehouse 13 you will definitely like The Lost Room. The miniseries totals 4 hours.
Something catastrophic happened in a seedy motel room from a paranormal sense that made every object in the room absorb some energy that gave each object a special power. Different groups are looking for these objects for their own special goals. A detective catches a criminal that is in possession of the motel key to The Lost Room. The detective discovers that the key will open any door. When the door opens the key holder can walk right into the lost motel room. By thinking of any location when you reopen the motel room door, it will take you to that location. Unfortunately, the detective's daughter enters the motel room and becomes lost. The detective goes on a desperate search to find his daughter and he has to deal with people willing to kill to find power laden objects.

She's in Portland - This is a sentimental buddy movie about two thirty something guys that go on a road trip. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
Wes is a successful and married man who is unhappy. Luke is unsuccessful, unmarried and is also unhappy. Luke laments about a girl from college that he had a crush on but didn't do anything about it. Wes convinces Luke to go on a road trip to Portland and look her up. Some nice comic moments too.
