Quote from: 4 Aces on February 19, 2024, 04:19:02 PMThe "it's been 5 years he's had plenty of time to show something" isn't based on anything logical, and doesn't refute the simple point that you can't do anything in the NFL with a combination of bad OL and bottom-tier skill players.

And BTW - he's shown something. Did you miss the part where he got a $90M contract? Or is that being dismissed as fans on a message board are smarter than the GM?

I think we all agree the OL has been awful his entire career here so I won't spend time on that.

His #1 targets since he's been here?

*Golden Tate
*Darius Slayton
*Evan Engram
*Kenny Golladay
*Kadarius Toney
*Darren Waller on a bad hamstring

Yeah - it's been 5 years. And he's had a bad supporting cast the entire time. So refer back to the simple statement:

Bad OL + bad skills = hopeless situation for an NFL QB. When has he ever not had that? People can throw shade on him and cry all they want, that's why they were wrong about the contract he eventually got and why they're still confused, now.

Nice post. The WR list adds a little context to the lack of supporting cast Jones has had.

I haven't seen anything special from him that I haven't seen from numerous other slot receivers on other teams. In 21 games played he has a grand total of 752 yards and 2 TDs. Maybe in his 3rd year, he will finally come close to justifying a 2nd round pick, but I'm not holding my breathe.

No. FA WRs are too expensive.  Get one with pick 6 or one of their 2nd rounders.

Easy yes! I can't trust Schoen drafting the right players anyways, so might as well trade them all away in a trade for the best QB in recent memory!!!! Giants will be Super Bowl bound in 2 years with Williams hoisting the SB MVP trophy 🏆 Would you give up Barkley, Thibs, Andrew Thomas, Wandale Robinson, Xavier McKinney for Patrick Mahomes? I would.😎

He threw some nice passes and also some bad passes. He looked above average but considering the talent around him I expected more.

They possibly have 2 cracks at a TD

Quote from: katkavage on February 11, 2024, 09:29:11 PMThis game is toast. Can't see a comeback by SF. Shanahan has no second half answers.. McCaffery disappears.

Can't appear if you're not given the ball.

Is it just me or are the 49ers just screwing themselves, by not running with Mccaffery more?

Mccaffrey just got a taste of what Barkley has to deal with constantly

Purdy is accurate with the ball

A menace on the field. In both positive and negative ways. He did bring a swagger to the offense. His personality was ferocious and he wanted to win. He indeed is from Oklahoma, and as a fellow Oklahoman, I loved watching him play for my favorite team. However, when it was all said and done, he underachieved based on the talent he had. Still had a pretty dam good career. 2 time SB Champ!!!

Quote from: Jclayton92 on February 08, 2024, 06:47:14 PMSo then when/where do we get the Qb of the future? How much more does the organization need to lose before everyone is tired of losing and willing for the organization to go after a qb?

The time for that is now. I just don't have high expectations for McCarthy. If the Giants do indeed draft McCarthy, I will hope like heck that I am completely wrong on him. For me, I am ok taking Williams, Maye or Daniel's at 6. McCarthy just didn't look special to me on the few games I watched, even though he had a perfect setup for a QB. Legit Oline, elite running game and an elite defense. His WRs are underrated. Daniel's throwing to two first round WRs had it pretty easy as well. Williams and Maye had the least to work with and showed me the most in the games I watched. I am no scout and don't spend hours breaking down plays. I just go by what I seen in the games I watched.
