It's probably in the best interest of the league that Watson didn't work out. Not only did his off the field conduct render him undeserving of success, but that fully guaranteed contract was absolutely ridiculous and would have been a brutal precedent had he panned out. I remember Lamar Jackson making a major stink with the Ravens about wanting the same thing for himself shortly after that, and it's hard to blame him if one puts oneself in his shoes.

But now that Watson crashed and burned, no QB has much of a case to demand that type of deal. I think that's a good thing. These QB contracts are exorbitant enough as it is, and this is a stringent salary cap league.
