Are we all thinking the same thing?

This is a red shirt year, improve the team overall but wait till we get Manning next year and in that draft build up the team more, and hope in 2-3 years we are back in it.

Never wanted Sanders drafted, and seems most qbs in this draft are big wild cards.

Also do we still not have an issue with the oline?

No matter the QB, they/we won't get far w/o an oline.

MightyGiants

The problem I see with saying, "get Arch Manning," is that there are about a dozen other teams thinking the same thing.  A lot has to happen (or go right) for the Giants to end up with him.
SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

very true, they would have to be in the top 2 to get him, possibly 3.

If we get a rookie QB whether they play or not, won't be much wins and who is sold on Winston & Wilson as winners? Can't believe they grabbed both of them, waste of $$$. And with our oline, good luck on top of that.

I don't think it's a redshirt year for Daboll and Schoen. As we've seen in the past, the Giants can't have nice things and will screw themselves out of the pick. Not only that, but who says that Arch even comes out next year? With NIL there's zero reason to go to the NFL early if you are an elite talent.

The Oline was decent before ATs injury, so the assumption is they will be at least decent again if not better because they are in year 2 with those guys and the oline coach.

I don't think it is a redshirt year at all.

Would you still want Arch, if he was not a Manning or related to Eli?

All he's done so far is beat up on horrible teams. So honestly it's all a projection with him as he hasn't started more than 3 games. I'll be the first to admit that I thought he was overhyped and remember telling @DaveBrown74 that I didn't like his high school tape and thought he was ok.

Redshirt for the Giants not for Daboll & Schoen, that I agree.

I think Arch will come out if the Giants can realistically grab him with his Grandfather and Uncle being on the side of the Giants. Obviously there could be several other teams they be happy if he played for. Definitely situational.

Can only hope, but they were bad when AT went down. It is a whole team effort not a 1 guy excuse to falter as bad as they did.

Manning name doesn't hurt but at the end of the day, it is all about his game play, and as it appears now, he seems to have both his Uncles and Grandfathers ability to potentially be something special.

interesting. Obviously he has another year to play so we shall see, but is his arm, accuracy, football IQ up there?

Mr G: A solid point not (to my memory) ever raised here. I was saving it for next year. lol  Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

Name has a slight weight on it (based on their work ethic, knowledge, and other intangibles) , but at the end of the day I want them to be the best possible option/player. If they aren't, the name doesn't matter to me, I'd pass him up in a heartbeat.

Same way we know Sanders was a top flight HOF player and you dealt with his antics, but I wouldn't touch or want his son, even with the Sanders name.

Next year is just that. Let's first get past this year starting with the Draft in just a few more hours. There is no reason to not expect the 2025 team to be improved in terms of talent at most if not all positions. How that will translate in terms of W/Ls is an unknown which may not become apparent/ even hinted for the first half dozen games. In any case, all we can do is wait and see despite the fact that we do not do that very well.

As for another Manning in the Giants future? C'mon, that's not something we should be thinking about unless we're hoping for another 0-2, 1-3, 2-13 start...and?

And as Jughead used to say, "Relax, Archie. Relax!

Cheers!
