UK Giants

Quote from: UKGiantsFan on April 26, 2025, 06:16:21 AMYep and my boards only include players I have watched, liked, and thought would be a good fit not everyone we're known to be linked to, otherwise I'd be 3 for 3 . Don't worry though,
I'm about to become Jackson Dart's biggest fan

With my eyes firmly fixed on pick 105, Ollie Gordon II stands out as the lone player I think can become an above average/good starter left on my board. The Giants have always had a successful big back - a horse as I like to call them! - on their teams, and he's certainly that! Nothing breaks the wills and hearts of defensive players more than being carried for extra yardage or trampled in the open field

At positions of need, I still have some guys who I think can become solid/lower-end starters in the NFL, but not many!

G Miles Frazier - a NJ kid - is really the last guy I could see winning a starting spot on the OL.

I have reservations over selecting Marcus Mbow as he professed at his Pro Day that he's a T, and he'd really need to buy into playing RG for us to make use of him this year. Still a good T prospect though, but we like our T's a lot taller!

I wouldn't rule out a double-dip at IDL as both Joshua Farmer and Ty Robinson have a lot of experience playing 4T & 5T and I am still holding out hope that the Giants don't see Roy Robertson-Harris as a starter!

At RB, if not going with Gordon,  either Tajh Brooks or Cam Skattebo will fit the bill. I'd far prefer the former as his pass blocking and receiving skills could see him fill an immediate role on 3rd down, but there's something about the violence of a Skattebo run that is infectious and would get the crowd going that also appeals.

President Rick

I really like sawyer.  I know we have a lot of edges now but I'd play him straight up at LB.  The guy is simply a football player.

I took information of the best players available on Day 3 from 12 different team sites as well as several mainstream sites...with a touch of personal bias thrown in and this is what I have. My personal "Cheat Sheet"

Personally, I don't really see us finding an OT who can step in...maybe Cameron Williams, but it seems the ones that are left are projects for down the road. Mbow can play OT, but he's going to be a OG with his T-Rex arms

My hope is that the Giants today, pick up OG Jackson Slater, DT/TE JJ Pegues, WR Oronde Gadsen, or RB LaQuint Allen. If we get any of these guys I will be thrilled. I think Jackson Slater is the best offensive lineman left on the board who would already be gone if not for the run on DL and ER

Getting Darius Alexander in the third was a steal. Many of the charts I have had him as an early 2nd rounder and in the top 5 DTs in the draft. But I am certainly not against continuing to add more DLmen to our team. I would love Ty Robinson, Joshua Farmer, or JJ Pegues, to take the pressure off Dex and let him feast on QBs. Also, Jared Ivey would fit in easily as a DE with his size, and he's is an excellent pass rusher. This is the perfect year to build a dominant defensive line with such a bevy of high end players who will fall through the cracks

I'm a big Jalen Royals fan. Unfortunately, I think we'd need to grab him in the 4th, and OL is a much bigger need.

While I'm not disappointed in the Alexander pick, I really would have liked Jared Wilson there.

Maybe grab Royals in the 4th, then Seth McLaughlin in the 5th?

Who you got at 4 guys? Id be happy with either Martinez ..Skatteboo..or Mbow..RB 2 or Swing Tackle?? Mbow might be destined inside at guard.

My money is on Mbow or Skattebo. Likely Mbow as I think this class is much deeper at RB.

Jolly Blue Giant

In defense of my above bias

Jackson Slater is the closest player I've seen in the draft to Zack Martin - a zone wizard who is the best pass rushing guard in the draft. He's NEVER allowed a sack or a QB hit. For a big man, he moves around the line in zone like an enforcer. One of the best kept secrets in this draft. Smaller school has lowered the spotlight on him. But he's the real deal and would anchor the inside line for the next decade

LaQuint Allen is the best pass catching RB in the draft (bar none), and possibly for the last several years. He gets the 1000 yards on the ground (yawn), but gets almost that many through the air. He runs routes like a WR, and has very sticky hands. He has never had a fumble in his career. He's a "safety net" for a QB under pressure. More than a few teams have called him, "the best kept secret in this class"...in particular, the 49'ers

Oronde Gadsden II is a 6'5" WR, that is mislisted as a TE. He's more Plaxico Burress than Taylor Swift's boyfriend. He's a dawg in contested balls, and like his sidekick Allen, has never had a fumble.

JJ Pegues is a dual threat package of dynamite. A scrappy lineman who has a natural ability to sack a QB and create havoc in the trenches. BUT - he's a converted TE, and has loads of film of him being used in the red zone on offense...either as a bruising RB, or playing QB and then plowing through the scrum and across the line (he doesn't need a "tush push"  ). He'd be a fan favorite in a short time and one of the most fun guys to watch. His character is off the charts and another "best kept secret" in this draft. He'd be gone if not for the immense number of defensive linemen in this draft...so many in fact, that some will be UDFAs and would have been drafted in any other year but this one

As usual in Day 3 drafts, I spend a lot of time looking for information on players drafted by our front office, some that I've never heard of. But Schoen and company seem to have a gift at shaking the bushes and finding guys who fit the scheme Daboll wishes to bring to the field

**Mclaughlin would have been drafted yesterday but tore his Achilles. 24 games at Alabama before transferring to Ohio St for another 10, he'll be a starting center or guard once healthy.

**,Cameron Williams was a day 2 pure right tackle for me and one of my favorite developmental tackles in this class.

** I took Mbow off my board because he was demanding to play RT but his arms are so tiny he'll have to play guard or center. I think he's a center. His arms are 32 inches, the average tackle has at minimum 34 inches, and 33 inches at guard.

Who do you think will take Sanders? Raiders?
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!
