Great draft, but how much of the gap did we close?

Did they close they gap?  Of course.  Because the gap was a wide as the grand canyon.  And there's a limit to just how good a team can actually get.  So while a team like the Eagles might have gotten marginally better than they were last year, they were already the best team in the league so they can't get too much better than that.  Meanwhile the Giants were one of the worst teams in the league and have been for most of a decade.  If they had done nothing but sign Wilson and run everything else back...technically they've closed the gap a little bit.

Meanwhile they've done a lot more than that so the gap is close enough now that they can at least fantasize about beating one of the better teams in the league if things break their way.  Last year, it would have taken an act of God for the Giants to actually beat a good team. That is no longer the case.

I will believe they have narrowed the gap when I see them play good teams tough.

I think the defense has been dramatically improved.  If it is not a Top-10 unit, I think that's on Bowen.  The offense has made some improvement just by the QB change alone.  Outside of that, Skattebo will help. Not sure Mbow will be able to contribute anything noteworthy in his rookie season. I do not think we can bank on Thomas/JMS/Theo playing a full healthy season until we see it.

Between 2026 free agency & the draft, I think we will need to add OL/WR/TE.  Hopefully, re-sign Eleumenor, sign a talented guard, & draft a Day 1/Day 2 OL.  Then we can roll Dart out & see what we got.

I think 2025 won't see a lot of wins but it should show a much improved team.  Lots of reasons for optimism for 2026 if Schoen executes a good offseason plan.  Let's go Big Blue!

Kevin: Couldn't agree more. He now has plenty of tools in the toolbox. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!
