I thought the reaction was a bit overrated last year, hopefully the in season one is better received, I don't mind extra stuff to watch or discuss either.

I guess it will be across the division, so it will be spread between 4 teams.

I thought it was way overblown. If they were coming off a 12 win season, it would have been a non-issue.

In season hard knocks in December, for a team coming off a 3 win season with the most difficult schedule in the NFL after hyping their fanbase into a bullish frenzy after the draft and free agency.

I don't see how this can go badly ....

Having the toughest schedule really really really sucks.   If the team faced an average difficulty schedule, this is could be a 7-9 win team.  With this schedule, wins are going to be tough to come by.

The schedule is no cake walk, but it is not as bad as people are making it out to be.

Last years SOS means very little, it varies wildly each and every year and far too much weight gets put on it. Its often based on the 2024 version of the opponents, VS the 2024 version of the Giants

Not amazing news.  But of all the teams in the East, we are likely to have the most "drama" (Daboll and Schoen hot seats, whether to start Dart, three prominent edge guys, etc.) which means we have the most storylines.  Expect cameras at 1925 Giants Way.

The Giants also have the hardest schedule if you use projected win totals (which in theory, should be more accurate).   

I guess John Mara didn't have the cojones to say "not only no but ... (insert expletive here) NO!"

But shows like this are really less about John Mara and more about the Giants' Communications Organization. Now, if folks here are hell bent to break Ronnie Barnes' chops for every boo-boo a Giants' player, coach, ball boy or janitor incurs on the job (NOTE: and off the job, as well), then I must declare that the Senior Vice President of Communications, Pat Hanlon, got off unscathed after the last "Hard Knocks" media disaster. To be fair, I did not watch the Giants' "Hard Knocks" series, nor will I ever plan to, as this "Hard Knocks" format NFL Films created just doesn't appeal to me at all. As I've said in the past, I'm more nostalgia-driven and NFL Films became an Emmy Award-winning machine by virtue of the late, great, legendary Father-Son pairing of Ed and Steve Sabol. But Steve's creative side, leveraging news presenter John Facenda, and the breathtaking Big Band Composer and Conductor, Sam Spence and his circle of professionals, complemented by the now-iconic stock production music of its day (e.g. KPM Music Library, Music de Wolfe LP Library, Sonoton, Chappell and countless others) to show pro football to fans, and everyday people, in a manner and style which had never been seen before ... and they loved it and wanted more! The birth story of NFL Films was this from the Sabols outbidding all comers to have the job of filming the 1962 NFL World Professional Title Game at Yankee Stadium in what came to be known as "Pro Football's Longest Day." But now I have clearly digressed into the Romanticism the Sabols have mastered into their best NFL Films programs and, now that they are gone, their legacy lives on forever as long we have NFL Films to take us back to the fondest of days we remember in Giants' lore. It is OUR loss that today's NFL Films can only produce hollow production efforts lacking substance and soul.

Fair, the way I see it, is on paper the Giants have made significant improvements, and have made moves that were smart, and with real upside. Meanwhile, alot of these teams, more or less look the same to me or worse, no one on the schedule strikes me as "oh they have improved significantly", so to me put that all together alongside how many of their games last year were competitive and/or close, that's a net positive.

The Eagles will surely be a very good team, but they overhauled alot of the roster, some staff changes, so at best, I think they too will be equal to last years outfit.

I could very well be wrong, I'm also projecting in a sense I suppose, I just don't view it as daunting as most.

I can't be surprised at 5 wins, but I also would not be surprised at 10-11 either. I guess we will see. I just feel we may have finally closed the talent gap vs alot of these teams and especially the division.

In the end all of this is just an exercise in trying to predict the future.  None of us are really capable of doing that regularly with any sort of accuracy.   So all we can do is give our predictions and explain our reasoning.   It's not really proper to pretend any of us know better than another in these sorts of exercises.  As you suggested uncertainty is high.
