Maybe as a runner, but Scattebo is likely to be a far better receiver than Joe.
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Yeah..somewhat. Morris used his power..low pad level to an advantage. But he was a terrible receiver mostly. Skat is much more well rounded

The way Giants fans talk about him, the anointing oils are already applied.... I expected to see a photo of John Riggins holding his hall of fame bust  :D

I dont see it.  Morris was much smaller I think.  Worse hands also.

I am not talking about his receiving, I am talking about his running style.  When I watch the film on Skattebo, I see the same low to the ground, incredible balance and change of direction ability, that Morris exploited to much success.

Little Joe might not have a great 40 time (I have no idea what he ran) but he had great quickness.  He was through a hole in an eye blink.

I agree with Crypto above - can we tap the brakes a little on putting Skattebo in the Pro Bowl?  Like maybe lets see a few pro carries?  You know that Parcells would be calling him "Canton" by now, right?

No one is suggesting Pro Bowl or HOF.  On the other hand, I think some people see Skattebo's 40 time and dismiss him as being too slow to be effective in the NFL, even though he carried his team to the college playoffs.

I see the comparison, Rich. I think "The Scatterbug" reminds me of Ahmad Bradshaw. Quick runner with good vision (not unlike Lil Joe) but with an intent to harm the opponent despite his size.
From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!

A little like (ewww) Jacobs and Bradshaw had a baby.

Joe Morris ran low to the ground because he was only 5'7".  Skat is 2 inches taller and 30 pounds more.  I dint see Skat with a low running profile but more upright with just pinball bouncing balance.  I may be wring.

Marshawn Lynch running style and success would be a dream.  He was something else.

THIS!!! With plenty of fun and excitement!!! Combine "BEAST-mode" AND "fun and excitement" and that's what you all need to buckle your seatbelts and chin-straps for!!!

He may take a few plays to knock the desert dust and cactus needles out of his helmet and shoulder pads, but he'll ramp it up quickly and it's going to get fun in a hurry!

Peace!

Thanks, as always, Rich @MightyGiants  , for sharing these!

Season 1986 had a plethora of highlights which never made the final cut of either "Giants Among Men" (NOTE: the one-hour Pat Summerall game-by-game documentary on the Giants, or "World Champions," the 23-minute 1986 Giants normal season highlight video. But in this 27-7 domination over the Cardinals, Joe Morris wasn't done running after making it 14-0. In the final moments of the game, he broke through on the left side, went 50-60 yards and got tripped up on the one-yard line. That run was even more exciting than the 54-yarder in the video! That run NEVER made it to any of the highlights because the Giants, if I remember, either took a knee or just ran the clock out.

I wish our friend BigBlueVCR would have appended that run to this otherwise outstanding clip!

Peace!
