I got today's, but I wouldn't say it was "easy or straight forward".  You had one category "car companies" but you have 7 correct answers

I don't think the game is ever "easy" the way some Wordle games can be. I did think today was a bit easier than some of the ones we have seen prior to today in recent days. For me at least.

The trick of having a category that looks obvious is one we have seen them do before. Personally I think the best approach when they throw these at you is to try to completely avoid that category initially. If I can knock off another foursome somewhere else, that tends to help. Also, by looking at other words, you may find three that work together and the fourth one is clearly one of the ones in the big category (in this case the cars).

That was the first grouping I saw. Then, I separated the no kidding car companies out.

Of the three that were left, Wilson was the only one that matched up with them. Figured those three weren't in the car category after all.

For me, this is the first time there were 100% 7 correct answers (6 if you argue that Lincoln is just a subsidiary of Ford).   I guess if they had said, non-American car companies the groupings would make more sense.
