Maybe it's all the years of disappointment. Or mediocre FA's and Draft picks that produced nothing. I feel like I should be excited over the upcoming season but I'm not. I do think they had a solid draft but I felt that way for many drafts. I like the FA's brought in on the O-line and the Burns trade but I've had that before.

Golladay and Toney were exciting additions to the receiver Corp in 2021.
Mckethan, Beavers, Flott, Neal, Owens, Riley, Grey, Flott and Hawkins entering second and third years after showing very little to get excited about.
Six years of Daniel Jones full of excuses after excuses.

Every season there was hope that the Offensive Line would finally come together. Those guys are all gone.

Injuries have ravished this team to the point where major players go down and it kills the team.

Come July however, this fan will be excited once again, going to camp and looking forward to a turnaround season that can sustain success and build off of it. Still, the QB and O-Line have a lot to prove. A new Defensive Coordinator and a new System will take some getting used to. Daboll is committed to designing around the talents of the players, at least Offensively.

If the D can "hold serve" (play as well as last season) and injuries are near the NFL average (as opposed to our usual situation - leading the league ), IMO our offense and special teams are poised to bounce back, and the result of all this should be a team that is still relevant in December (at worst). After 3 years this team should have an identity and I'm unclear what that is currently.

I got one foot in the "Cautiously Optimistic" lane and the other in the "I'll Believe It When I See It" lane.

For me, it all hinges on Bricillo and what he can do with his guys up front. My second area of concern/interest is the running game. I don't picture a drastic fall off in production collectively from previous seasons. I actually think as a group, the production will be significantly better.

I'm the village homer and believe we are headed in the right direction. I have a lot more faith in DJ than half the fans who believe he's garbage...I believe he will excel if given protection and decent receivers. I will believe that until he proves otherwise, and I refuse to get on the "dump DJ wagon"

The schedule folks. Don't forget the schedule. In 2022 the schedule was easy. They played the AFC South. Last year they had to play the NFC West. Lost 3 out of four. This year they play the AFC North and NFC South. NFC South can go either way. Carolina is the only team as of now they would be favored against. In their division, they need to prove finally that they can beat Dallas, until they do, they are underdogs. Philly...we shall see which team shows up. Washington will be better. Don't count on the two easy wins. So go through the schedule. Of course there are injuries to other teams that change the dynamic. But right now, on paper, I don't see more than 7 wins. That's being generous.

I put that I need to see it to believe it because our QB room, as it stands right now at least, is one of the worst in the league, and it's a QB league.

If Jones surprises everyone and suddenly plays legitimately very well, great, but I need to see that to believe it.

I voted "I'll believe it when I see it."

Defense could be hot garbage this year or much better. I still have Bill Sheridan hangover.

Offensive line could be no better than last year. Too many variables to make a prediction.

Daniel Jones might do well to play in 9 games this year, and I don't think he will be running away from anyone now. 

Life after Barkley? Who knows?

I'm almost willing to say "as Evan Neal goes, so goes the offense."

It ALL hinges on the QB. Starts and ends with him. Does he lock on recievers or does he learn and take a giant leap?

 Throughout most of my football life, I have been a 'Believe it when I see it' guy. The only real time I let that guard down was during the Parcels years when we knew we were good and we expected championships every year.
Coming out of the draft, most of us get a bit more optimistic, but as long as we haven't upgraded several key positions, again, I enter another season 'Believing it when I see it".

Yes, we had a horrible schedule last year, but even with a decent schedule, it still all depends on when you play certain teams. Last year, we started out, what, our first 6 games, against maybe the best teams in the league and it hurts to get slaughtered starting the season. It has to have an effect on the player's psyche. Give us a few winnable games in t he first 5-6 games and let t he team feel what winning really does for morale.

Did you forget 2009? I still remember the Safety everyone scapegoated. CC Brown.

The least excited I've been since I started following the team in 2020. No more Saquon (the real face of our franchise), no more Xavier, still no real quarterback or apparent plans to get one. Hello to another year of ranking 30-something on offense and the defense having to do most of the work. That's definitely a "meh."

Where's the "waiting for a QB" option?

I would have been much more optimistic going forward if a QB was there for the future. As it is now, Giant fans are in limbo on that very important aspect of team building. I've repeatedly said that 2024 should not be looked at as anything but a bridge to the future. But without the QB of the future, we have to bump that down the road a year or two.
