USA is IMO still the best place in the known universe. Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

From the blazing heat of the Southwest, have a "cool" (and safe) Fourth of July holiday today and throughout the weekend!

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

You mean no mention of Daniel Jones yet!  Totally unbelieveable.

How long will that remain so? Is that not a question which we should not have to even think about?

Let us not forget the words of- No! not Thomas Jefferson- but of Wendell Phillips speaking to the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society in 1852:
Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty; power is ever stealing from the many to the few. The manna of popular liberty must be gathered each day or it is rotten...only by unintermitted agitation can a people be sufficiently awake to principle not to let liberty be smothered in material prosperity.

Cheers!

Larry: I include this for the sake of completeness... for anyone interested.

The oblique reference in Larry's post is to the following remark (which is also a warning):

"The price of freedom is eternal vigilance." - Thomas Jefferson

Thank you, Larry and Bob.

To that end, it is why some of us put our hand up and swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; to bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and to obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over us, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help us God.

That oath meant something then as it continues to inspire to this very day. This great nation is not to be taken granted. It was paid for in the blood of our forefathers and defended the same. If what we are observing around us is allowed to continue, more blood may need to be shed to save this great nation.

I pray every day that the people of this nation heed Jefferson's words and do what is needed to strengthen our nation.

In peace.
