From the article:

Although the scenery is all the same, Taylor feels there is better energy in the Jets' locker room compared to the Giants'.

"This is no disrespect to (the Giants) or anything, but when coming in here and being around the guys for Phase One, it was refreshing the energy throughout the locker room," Taylor said, via the Jets' official website.

The Jets are a bigger train wreck than big blue. I get the feeling he'll be singing a different tune after the season.

Agreed.

The roster (including both sides of the ball) has considerably more talent though. They're just incredibly dysfunctional.

When a veteran changes teams, it's always challenging to say something nice about the new team without it being construed as a knock on their old team.
SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

BluesCruz

maybe its the ambiance of being in Morristown not the scruffy Meadowlands

Trees, expensive suburbs, elbow room, high end trendy bars and restaurants, modern highways

none of it translates to Lombardi's though

He's being nice. Remember the Giants started DeVito over him costing him serious bonus money. TT is a class act.

DaveBrown74

If we're convinced he's "just being nice" (ie not being totally sincere), we might want to consider the same might be true with players who land here and say positive things at the podium after their arrival.

The Giants are a much classier organization than the Jets, and they have a much more impressive history, but players care much more about winning right now than what the team did 15 or 40 years ago.

Every year pundits point to their talent while justifying how they will be a break out team and every year they have a top 10 pick. IMHO Woody Johnson and his brother are an incompetent version of John and Chris Mara.

Veteran trying to endear himself to his new team; very standard...nothing new to see here.

I listen to stuff like this, because after 12 years of futility there is clearly something systemic going on. It's not easy to be this bad for this long.

If they do lack energy, it's why I like the Nabers and Burns adds. High energy, upbeat personalities that love football. Eluemunor, too. Almost looks like something they were looking for.

That said, the Giants have always been like this. The Corporate Giants. PG-13. It's just the way it is.
