If I'm channel surfing and I come across it, I'll check it out now. It wasn't must-see TV for me.

I never liked Lucy...I know, I know...a travesty. She was too over-the-top for me...an over-actor (which has been said about Jim Carey and I agree). But Carey actually made me laugh...at least in a few of his movies, like "Ace-Pet Detective". I still laugh just thinking about the scene in the police office of Lois warning Ace, "How would you like me to make your life a living hell?", and his response, "Well, thanks very much Lois, but I'm already in a relationship"

I still remember the words to the opening of F-Troop, Beverly Hillbillies, Petticot Junction,and Green Acres.

Man, TV content sure has come a long, long way from a lot of the crap that was considered good in the 70s, 80s, and early to mid 90s.

I'm not saying there were no good shows in the past, because that would not be true, but it has gotten significantly better (IMO at least) since the mid late 90s.

Meanwhile, movies, on the whole (again just my opinion) have gotten much worse. There are still good movies, but good ones are much less frequent than they used to be. Back in the 80s and 90s you could basically go to a movie every weekend and be pretty much almost guaranteed of seeing something good if you read a couple reviews and did a little homework. That's just not true anyomre, and it hasn't been really for most of the 21st century. Nowadays, for every good movie there is, there are about 50 "Cosmic Avengers part 14" type movies and other crap I have zero desire to see.

The two forms of entertainment have frankly kind of flipped in overall status/caliber over the past 25 years or so.

A lot has changed since the 60's and 70's when it comes to television. Shows that would now be called "inappropriate" were the crux of some comedy. Benny Hill, The Man Show, etc

Imagine these scenes from The Man Show being shown today. Instead of laughing, there'd be hell to pay
