from what I heard in ep. 1&2, SB didn't seem too enthusiastic to stay in NY.

He wanted out and I can hardly blame the guy.  He's only got a year or two left of him being a top level talent and he's wasted most of his good years on this crappy teams.  He wants a chance to win and god bless him I wish him great success except twice a season.  But the Giants also may end up better off that he's gone too.  Using that money in other places makes more sense.  Singletary isn't Saquon but he's fine.  And he's significantly cheaper.  Saving that money likely helped them bring in a 2nd new guard.

I could be wrong, but I actually think this breakup was entirely about money, and I think there was a considerable gulf between the Giants' offer and what he ultimately got paid. I actually think if he could have had the exact same contract from the Giants that the Eagles gave him, he would have stayed.

I get that he sounded a little pissy in that phone call with Schoen, but I think that was down to the two of them already knowing he wasn't staying and his having grown frustrated with the Giants' lack of desire to pay him as much as he thought/knew he could get elsewhere. I don't think wanting "a chance to win" was a material driver of his departure.

This is not to suggest he doesn't care about winning or anything like that - I just don't think that's the reason he's no longer here.

I get a sense that Barkley wants to be a media figure after football.  He knows that NYC is better for that than Philly
