Brian Burns Top Plays of the 2019 Regular Season, 2020 Regular Season and 3 other Season Parts

SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

He reminds me of LT

Very fast and very strong    with a great sense of where the QB/RB is going

Literally the ideal size for the position at 6'5"/250, he runs a 4.5, and has a variety of devastating moves. Guy is a menace.

One of my favorite things about him too is that he's missed literally one game in five years. This isn't a situation where we're bringing in a highly talented guy who has had injury issues and we're hoping he can somehow unexpectedly stay healthy for once a la Darren Waller. This guy doesn't come with that. If he gets hurt on the Giants it will be a totally new thing for him.

Hard to fool on deceptive run plays (of course they're not going to show plays where he was fooled, if any).

Can get there from either end of the line and from upright position or three-point stance.

There's something about his 3-point stance that makes him look like he can float in mid-air. He appears to be just barely touching the ground (looks light as a feather, although he is by no means a small man).

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

1- How in the world did we get him.....whats the catch
2- We are the land of the wounded.  I hope he is fit and stays fit
3- He has the potential to become a sorely needed team leader as does Singletary on Offense- that would be nice

I think Schoen is finally starting to hit his stride on free agents- make Waller aa forgotten memory Joe

We gave up high quality draft capital AND gave out a max contract. Many teams are not willing to do both of those things for one player. As a general rule I am not in favor of doing this combination of actions for a non-QB unless you are a serious contender trying to get your team over the top. Obviously, that's not us.

However, I nonetheless am happy with this trade because I view Burns as a foundational player who at 26 is still young enough to be very effective for us for several years. So if it takes us two to three more seasons to be a contender, he will still be in his 20s then, and he can still be a major part of any future push for a Super Bowl.

Moreover, edge rusher is without question a premium position, and I'm willing to do a lot to get an elite, still young, highly durable player who plays a premium position. Those don't grow on trees.

DB: Agree, and his youth means he's young enough to stay with the team for a second contract if the first one works out as well as all of us are hoping/imagining/praying. Bob
