It would be nice to find our own mini-terror like the Vikings did when they grabbed Ivan Pace Jr. off the undrafted heap because he went undrafted for being, "shorter than ideal"...then won a spot on the PFWA (Professional Football Writers of America) 2023 All-Rookie Team and was Defensive Player of the Week in week 14 by recording 13 tackles, a sack, a tackle for loss, and an interception. Go Chatman...be a raging bison
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

If the goal is to get upfield and disrupt, sometimes smaller and quicker is the way to go.

He's shorter but pounds per height he is solid

Bowen needs 4 guys that can rush the passer.  If he can prove he can do that, he will have a spot on this team.  The Giants need a pass rushing 3 tech DT and he doesn't have to be oversized

Weren't there questions about height regarding Aaron Donald?

I know it's not the same thing in this case, but still....

My point: although a short guy can't knock down many passes, he might be good at getting around people.

Bob
If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

For what it's worth, I doubt Baby Bison was sent to an expensive training center to boost his numbers like Darnold was (agents are not going to spend money on likely undrafted prospects)

Rich: Thanks for posting comparison graphics. Elijah compares even more favorably than I thought.

I am taking his chances w/Giants seriously... especially w/this particular defensive coordinator.

IMO the kid is lucky to have drawn him as DC (and, of course, lucky to be a Giant).

The Giants didn't draft a pass-rushing 3 tech, and their roster doesn't have an obvious answer.  The job is his for the taking

Rich: That's what I meant by "lucky" to be on the Giants.

He will, of course, be susceptible to being cut in favor of a veteran near camp's end.

Still, I think he has an actual shot at doing what you and I are imagining, and it sure doesn't hurt to be playing next to (or near) Dexter. Just one more bit of luck.  Eventually, the Giants will "accidentally" hit a home run (it has been IMO a LONG time coming... can't even remember who the last such player was, but probably Victor Cruz) and this is exactly how an accidental home run looks as it is playing out. You never know.

Bob,

Sometimes, it's almost better to be an undrafted free agent than a low-round draft pick.  Since you are undrafted, you can go to a team where your odds are better for making the team.
