Is it possible that the neck injuries and his ability to plant his right foot and drive after the ACL have taken a toll on Jones' deep throws? Just far too many misses falling short. I know its early but this is somewhat concerning for me and I don't buy into the muscle bound theory. He's far from that.

Definitely something to keep an eye on.

I am not precluding injury issues.  Although, when it comes to the deep ball, QBs need to lead the receiver (throw the ball where the WR will be, not where he is).  I imagine it might take Jones a little bit to get used to the speed he has in Hyatt and Nabers.

Giants Training Camp Day 4 thoughts

•Offense continues to push the ball down the field. 5 of Daniel Jones' 16 throws were deep. Started slow with under throws of Malik Nabers & finished with 2 strikes to Nabers & Jalin Hyatt
•Malik Nabers is just always open
•Good to have Theo Johnson back. His first play with a nice catch over middle
•Giants did a lot of OL rotation with JMS out including Runyan at Center
•Rakeem Nunez-Roches is making a ton of plays in the run game
•Defense matched TE sets with Isaiah Simmons at nickel
•Ovie Oghoufo made some plays on 3rd team

Curious the foot he plants with to throw deep, is that the ACL leg? Just curious if he's hesitant to put significant weight on it and that's why he keeps coming up short?

You would think if Jones were still so unhealthy that he can't make fairly routine, deep throws without any threat of being hit, he would not be practicing. As far as I can recall (and I could be remembering wrong), Barkley didn't play at all in camp or preseason games in 2021. The fact that Jones is fully participating would suggest the doctors are comfortable with his health at this point. In fact the narrative this whole season has been that his recovery has been going well and that if anything was ahead of schedule.

Sounds more like he just had a couple of very rough practices and that he's doing better today.
