Apparently the NFL was not as amused as the fans were

NFL confirmed today that the Detroit Lions and New York Giants organizations have each been fined $200,000 for multiple fights that broke out at the joint practices between the clubs earlier this week.  All NFL clubs were reminded in a memo sent last month that fighting and unprofessional conduct at joint practices would not be tolerated.

The No Fun League rises from the dead.  I can't imagine John Mara is happy to have to fork over $200K

If all that fighting is a foreshadow of a reversal of fortune for the Giants, I would imagine John Mara would gladly pay the Lions' portion, in addition to his own.

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

Jolly Blue Giant

200k well spent, if you ask me. It's not easy to buy "fire in the belly", and the fine is peanuts to Mara a crew. Like fining me a nickel
The fact that Keith Richards has outlived Richard Simmons, sure makes me question this whole, "healthy eating and exercise" thing

Where does that money go towards? That seems rather excessive.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

According to Google AI:

NFL fines are donated to charities designated by the NFL and NFLPA. These charities include the Professional Athletes Foundation, which supports Legends in need, and the NFL Foundation, which supports the health, safety, and wellness of athletes. Since 2011, the NFL has donated about $4 million annually to these causes

So it's a tax deduction for the league while the organization bends over.

I remember hearing years ago the actual league is tax exempt.

So Roger is also a minister.

I'm sure Mara will pay that 200,000 to see his team has a pulse all day every day.
