I hate to pile on a guy after a rough night, but this wasn't good. Not good at all.

His career stats are very bad too. Tyrod's were similar to Jones'. Lock's are much, much worse.

Here is my question: is there a universe where you would consider making Tommy D the backup over Lock? I don't think that's such a crazy idea after watching this game tonight.

If Jones goes down, I'd rather see DeVito. Not impressed by Lock at all. How the hell do you not see Nabers all alone???

I agree just make Devito the #2 ...I'm mad we wasted 5 mil on lock... that could've went towards another piece

Devito did win 3 games in a row in meaningful games .... I don't think Lock does that

Honestly, I would not be opposed to cutting Lock and picking up a cut from another team as the 3rd.  That is saying A LOT since I have made it clear I am not into DeVito at all.

Given the context that you explained, that's one hell of an indictment of Lock.

Cutlets had one good performance...Green Bay..that rates with me. He surprised the awful Coms, okay, but after that..pfft. Let's not get carried away..but Lock looks terrible so far.

So bad that conjecture about the backup is legit. Drew has been drawing blanks all camp and is looking like a 5 million dollar lemon. 

I dunno, I'm guilty of being anti-Devito, but I'm officially coming off of that side and I'm now officially enrolled in the Tommy Cutlets fan club.

He deserves to be on this roster regarding the two QB's ahead of him. Someone else on this thread stated he would make Devito #2 and cut Lock for a pick-up off another team. I'm not against the Giants doing that as long as the pick-up is better or has the potential to be better than Lock.

Posting this for posterity when Devito is officially the starter by the midpoint of the season and drives the Giants to the playoffs.

I will say this, what we saw last night from Lock isn't much different than what I saw in camp. 

Tommy has significantly improved since last season. He still struggles a bit with Pocket awareness but once he settled in, he made some key passes.

I wouldn't be so quick to jettison Drew Lock just yet. They will need three QB's on the roster. Tommy will get poached on the PS. Remember that the quality of players he faced were better than what Tommy faced in the second half. Although I agree that Drew Lock is very disappointing. Next week I see DJ for the first 20 minutes and then Tommy. Lock may not play if his hip is bad.

Biggest difference from Lock vs Devito. Is Tommy just looked so much more comfortable, he isn't the best QB in the world but you can feel that he has control of the team after the snap

I'll say this, to my eyes DeVito has a legitimate shot at QB2.  You really have to wonder how Lock got $5 million guaranteed.  Without the guarantee he'd have an excellent chance of getting cut, IMO.

DeVito is the back up.....Daboll and Schoen are playing 3 card monty with gullible Mara in my opinion
