On one hand, there is clearly some mix-up between the tackle, te, and slot.  Tackle blocks down to double the 3-tech, TE and slot double Ojulari.  Tackle comes off the 3-tech to get Okereke.  Obviously, the te and slot were responsible for Ojulari and Philips.  So, it is easy to say it was just poorly blocked and nothing Philips did.  HOWEVER, how many times have we seen someone get into the backfield untouched and just completely miss on the tackle?  Way too effin many to count. So yes, a great play.

Actually, that was a CB run blitz.   Dru was so quick and decisive that the Lions couldn't pick him up

He was lined up in an LB position. They have to see him and account for him.  It wasn't an overload situation.  If at the snap, Philips drops then they can continue the double of Ojulari.

This was a great play by Dru.

This morning I keep seeing alot of great plays from last night getting discredited, not sure why, we need mroe stuff like this on the field.

I thought he should have gone much higher and still can't believe we got him AND Nubin (both were in my top ten defensive players of the 2024 class).

With the safeties playing well, CB remains the biggest mystery on the defense.

If Phillips can be a solid contributor, that could be an important piece of the puzzle.
