madb: Yeah, it's starting to look like we've finally got the easy part solved (decent backups).

The hard part involves having 22 solid starters... AND keeping them healthy and on the field.

I can't even get past the first half of that equation yet, and neither can the so-called "experts" who continue to rank our overall roster near the bottom of the NFL barrel.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

We will start to get an idea beginning September 8. Any evaluation before then is pointless.

Very few starters saw any action at all.

If we played the exact players we played on Thursday night in all 17 games, we would likely be picking first overall in the 2025 draft.

So I wouldn't recommend reading into Thursday's game too much as any sort of barometer for the season.

Philosophers

I can only get excited when I see our 1s beating another team's 1s and our 2s playing with our 1s and winning as well.  The rest is meaningless for the purposes of getting excited about the regular season.

BluesCruz

The Oline looked GREAT and Deep

The D was fantastic....hitting hard

Grey looks like Barry Sanders.  and the other guy is lighting fast
problem is they probably start their Buffalo guy Singletary ....hopefully with the face gone
we start rotating backs

Tommy D picked up right where he left off only better

We are Super Bowl bound my friends if DeVito is the starting QB

BUT We will be in the race for the 1st pick with Jones out there fumbling around

:surrender: One Preseason game does not predict the Giants regular season! At least our backups played at a preseason NFL level. Whatever that means. The game was enjoyable to watch. I am more optimistic about our OL than I was last year. They looked like a unit. I loved it! Haven't seen the OL work as a unit since, I don't know when. 10 years? I will not be all rah rah until the starters put a hurting on the opposition starting within our own division. Sick of the Cowplops and Philly kicking the Giant's butt. (I know, we beat Philly last season).

I'm loathed to predict anything based on one pre-season game.

We ought to remember how well Jones and Waller looked vs the Panthers last year. 8/8 and a TD on their only drive.

I remember how great the Giants looked in a 2003 pre-season game against Bill Belichick's Pats. The Giants had a RB #37 (what's his name again?) who tore the field up and scored at will and brought the house down.

Well, the next day, #37 was cut and never to be heard from again.

The Giants went 4-12 and Gentleman Jim Fassel was let go.

The Patriots "somehow" recovered and "just" managed to win the Super Bowl with a walk-off field goal.

What was that about pre-season games again?

Peace!

All other things being equal

I'd rather look good in preseason then look bad

It really doesn't matter.

Lions went 4-0 in the preseason then 0-16 in the regular season.

Let's agree to disagree

Last season the giants didn't play jones in pre-season.........what followed was an unmitigated disaster
