Are there any half decent CB's still unsigned?  If so, this would be the time to spend that extra cap $$.

8.  Adoree Jackson, CB, Giants. Age: 28.
Adoree Jackson has been a talented cornerback for many years, but he's coming off a down season.

9.  Stephon Gilmore, CB, Cowboys. Age: 33.
Stephon Gilmore is no longer the elite, shutdown cornerback he once was, but he still played at a high level this past season.

10.  Xavien Howard, CB, Dolphins. Age: 31.
Xavien Howard was once known as one of the better cornerbacks in the NFL, but he's coming off two down years, including a dreadful 2023. He's now 31, so his best days are almost certainly behind him.

12.  Myles Bryant, CB, Patriots. Age: 26.
Myles Bryant performed well out of the slot for the Patriots last year.

15.  Antonio Hamilton, CB, Cardinals. Age: 31.
Antonio Hamilton began 2023 as a backup, but emerged as Arizona's top cornerback, though that's not saying much.

16.  Steven Nelson, CB, Texans. Age: 31.
Steven Nelson rebounded from a down year with the Eagles to two solid seasons in Houston. His age is becoming a concern, however.

21.  Ahkello Witherspoon, CB, Rams. Age: 29.
Ahkello Witherspoon has had a very inconsistent career with some great seasons and some very down years.

Why is Adoree still unsigned? Is he asking for top dollars so far into camp?

He was pretty bad last year, and I suspect the Giants have soured on him given some reports have indicated his effort level wasn't there last year.

If he is healthy, I would take him back at a reduced price. The Giants are pretty desperate for another corner, and Adoree is 28 and only two years removed from being pretty darn solid. The fact that it's the midway point of August and he's not on a team indicates his value has declined. At a certain price point I don't see why we wouldn't be interested, unless things were literally so bad internally with him (ie politics within the team or with coaches or front office people) that the bridges are irreparably burned.

What I am asking is why hasn't any team signed him.

The first six words of my response that you quoted addresses your question.

He was excellent the year before. Last year Martindale seemed more concerned with doing his own while embarrassing Daboll on the way out the door. While he struggled in that atmosphere I wouldn't hold that against him. He isn't worth what he was paid on his original deal, he's still better than most the corners on the roster.

Thank goodness we are so well fortified at QB.  No need for tryouts at that position.

Not at all. Why hasn't any OTHER team brought him for a minimum contract? I know why we moved on but unless he and his agent are overplaying their hand I don't understand why he isn't in some teams camp.
