I think part of the decision to play starters in the final PS game

It could hinge on what the Jets plan to do.  If the Jets plan on having starters play a series or a quarter, I think Daboll will follow suit.  If they opt to only play the 2nd stringers, I wonder if Daboll will consider the lesser value of going against the twos will outweigh the injury risks.

Personally I would expect he does what he's done previously which is not play his starters a minute of that game.  Perhaps he wants to get Jones a series or two given those INTs in the last game and the fact that he's still working back from the ACL but I wouldn't bet on it.  I think he wants to go into Week 1 as healthy as physically possible, especially after what happened Week 1 last year.

I think the starters should get one-two series. Just to get ready for a game and put them in the proper mindset. Rich's POV however is compelling.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

Considering how Daboll shook things up this training camp, I am unsure how much stock I put into past behavior.  I suspect existing injuries could also play a part in the decision.  I don't think Daboll wants to be limping into the Vikings game

I cant wait til we lose 40-0 in our opener because not playing players who still are very rusty or those who have not yet gelled within a position group or not synced fully with other positions has worked well.
