Some people just don't have the personal skills to maximize their abilities. In my experience the people who lack those skills are also most likely to blame anyone and everyone for their failure. I have no doubts he's a good X's and O's coach but if you actively sabotage the most important player on your roster you have only yourself to blame for getting fired and not rehired by anyone else.

We have witnessed it time and time again.  The job of an HC is significantly different than that of a coordinator.   Many talented coordinators fail to make the jump to HC.   For former DCs, the challenge is even greater because there really isn't a similar position on defense to the QB they now need to coach.

It's not like folks can say Tua is a soft Gen Z who wanted to be coddled and Flores was "tough."  I mean Tua played for Nick Saban.  No swaddling there under Nick.

I think there is a difference between tough/demanding and tearing a player down for the sake of tearing them down.

I worked with a guy who was related to him either in-law or something. He said he is actually a good guy who tries to help people in the community ; gives free tickets out to games, and kept in touch with people still in the 'hood where my work was located at that time.

Are you referring to Tua or Flores?

Exactly my point.  Some may not see the nuance.

Wasn't one of the issues for Tua in college that he was too hard on himself and like too high strung or something?

Also, Flores might be right about Tua. I just can't see Tua coming to the Giants and doing much of anything and/or like 60% of the teams in the NFL. His success can be mostly attributed to McDaniels offensive scheme and 2 very good receivers.  It would have been interesting to see Mike Glennon in that offense. He was signed as back up but, did not playing time since Skylar Thomson was able to play injury free football the last  game of the season and the wild card game. If freaking Mike Glennon would have lit it up then you know....

Flores responded and accepted responsibility. Seems like he is growing as a coach just as Tua is as a QB. They seem to like him in Minnesota. Just a headline on an off day.

I'm not sure I'm ready to just assume Flores is a "terrible person" (to directly quote Tua) based solely on his testimony.

I'm not saying Tua is lying or that anything he said is without merit. I'm just not sure I'm ready to draw major, long term, binding conclusions about Flores as a man or as a coach based on this one take on him. I'm also not sure I would have done this if I were Tua.

Who said you should? Most rational humans evolve with time. I'm certainly not the same person I was 10 years go. It's entirely possible that he was a terrible person to Tua couple of years ago and he's had enough self awareness to realize it cost him his job and has changed his ways. I hope he has. The world has too many a-holes in it. One less is a win for all of us. It seems as if some of the Vikings players don't feel like he is. So I'm hopeful.

I was listening to Phil and Matt Simms this morning.  Apparently, Florio never wanted Tua.
