That will mean the Giants OL likely improved a lot as well.  With both finally fixed, the Giants can look to BPA in 2025 and bring in more elite talent.  The 2025 Draft will be heavy in defense with some elite boundary CBs, interior DLs and LBs.  Imagine Harold Perkins on the Giants.  Solve the QB problem and they can accumulate talent like the Eagles have.

If Jones turns his career around, that would be the best thing for this Franchise. Do you believe he will do that this season?

I wouldn't care if he was top 15-18 but the production ramped up significantly.

The QB position is stacked. I had this conversation with some family members who are Eagles fans, and you can make the case that Hurts isn't a top 10 QB. In fact, a recent ESPN series on the top 10 players at every position polled players, coaches, executives, etc., and Hurts wasn't in the top 10. Neither was Tua, Purdy, or Love.

So I think it's unrealistic to expect that type of season out of DJ short of an astronomical jump by this team far exceeding expectations.

I think a more realistic projection would be to see him finish in the 15 - 18 range. If the defense can perform at a high level and Jones performs middle of the pack, that should be good for 7-8 wins and improvement over last year.

He would have needed to demonstrate more than a single year at that level, which he has never reached before.

He unfortunately does not have multiple years to prove himself, QBs in year 6 on a second contract don't often, if ever rebound to this extreme. I hope I am wrong, but the odds are overwhelmingly against it, imo.

The way the Giants built ( or didn't build this team) he has to perform close to 12 or they are set back several more years. The mistake was made when they didn't do a true rebuild meaning a new QB. Now they have to hope with weapons the QB can be serviceable. It's a risk.

Now or never indeed, Joseph. While I really don't know what the benchmark QB ranking re cost-performance success may be for Daniel Jones this year and thereafter, it is very much a case of now or never. That should be so obvious that it's hardly worth a guessing.

Top 12 would be a godsend.  Consider the names that are currently in the top 10-14 range(-ish, just me ballparking it):  Jordan Love, Brock Purdy, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence.  If DJ can perform at the level of any of those 4, we'd be in serious business.

Just out of curiosity, what metric for top 12 are you going to use?  There are so many different metrics for QBs.

I like yards but a combo of metrics would work as well.  Top 12 in 2023 would be Sam Howell at 3,924 yards.  I think in today's NFL, a QB needs to be throwing for 4,000 yards per season.

Top 12? I have doubts he can play a whole season without injury. The neck thing is troublesome.

Any success would be predicated on the play of others. Receivers getting separation, line blocking, solid running.

That was the narrative last year, so any credit would for the improved play, would have to be shared.

Of course, being able to play 17 games would be a cracking start to any improvement.

I think 4000 yards passing, 30 TDs receiving, and under 12 or so INTs is the minimum for me. Even so, one year would not be enough, given the history prior to it plus the injury history as well.
