Some here if I remember correctly liked Sam Hartman as a QB pick in the mid rounds. Should the Giants go after him? Perhaps cut injured Lock and bring in Sam Hartman? We may or not need a QB, depending on Jones' play after this upcoming season. Right now IMO opinion, neither Devtio or Lock scream franchise QB and Jones is the X-factor.

If there were a way to sign him to the practice squad and didn't need the spot with urgency, I would. I think he has a higher ceiling than DeVito.

I agree we need to try and do something at QB. However I'd personally rather take a shot on a guy with a big, "NFL" arm and try to work with him. Hasn't the big negative for Hartman been his arm strength and how it compares at the NFL level? I'd rather sign someone like Milton (I know he made the Pats), than Hartman or Zappe

Huntley just got released, I'd much rather pick him up than Hartman. I may like Huntley better than Lock of DeVito for that matter.

Milton has a big-time arm but his accuracy in 20+ yards LY was 29.5% completion % with 12 big-Time-throws and a 62.8 PFF Grade.

Hartman was successful at Wake and ND. LY in 20+ yard throws he had 24 BBT's, 43.9% completion %, and a 95.6 PFF Grade.

The Majority of Milton's throws were 0-9 yards as with most QB's and those were his best stats, with a 79.8 completion % and a 73.5 PFF Grade.

Milton's velocity of 62 mph is elite and getting the ball to the Receiver on a timely basis is huge in this league. Hartman has an average arm at best and those deep throws have too much arc.

If Milton were available, I would take him over DeVito and Hartman too.

The same Tyler Huntley that made the pro bowl as a backup QB who filled in for Lamar Jackson for a few games in 2022. What a joke the Pro Bowl has become.

I'm not high on Hartman at all as a pro prospect, and I'm an ND fan. I just don't think there is anything about his game or his physical attributes that are going to lend themselves to success at the next level. He may be able to carve out a career as a journeyman backup type like a Matt Barkley or Colt McCoy but to me that's probably his best case scenario.

What about his hair? He could make commercials.
I was talking to one of his Coaches who felt he would have gone higher in the draft if he stayed at Wake. I would have to agree with him, looking at the stats. Even without A.T. Perry.

I am sure your friend is right. He was clearly used to the system there.

True about the hair. I'm guessing he doesn't have too tough of a time with the ladies.

Hartman is a just a guy..UFL talent. But Lock and DeVito have shown little this year, so an upgrade may come along. 60 qbs started last year at some point, and Jones will get dinged at some point. What then?

The guy I had my eye on was Carter Bradley from South Alabama. While all the scouts were looking at the usual suspects at the Senior Bowl, some teams started to take an interest in Carter Bradley and he met with a few teams privately. Las Vegas in particular seemed very interested.

The Raiders signed him as an undrafted free agent and he was waived this week and then re-signed to the practice squad. Apparently the still like him enough to keep him around, albeit in the weakest QB room in the League.
