If they add Jackson, it would be a massive upgrade to the CB room.  You would be set at the boundary with Banks and Jackson (with McCloud or Flott as backup), and Flott could be a proper backup for Dru Phillips in the slot position.

About to unplug (as much as possible) for the weekend. So here are my thoughts on Adoree Jackson:

• A reunion is a surprise based on reviews on last season I heard from people still in the organization. And because it would be happening a week before the season after he was available all offseason.

• I can't imagine the price will be high. I'm sure the Giants will be looking for a low base with higher upside based on playing time if they're going to sign him.

• He immediately upgrades the biggest weakness on their roster.

I think Jackson's willingness to play in the slot at the beginning of last season hurt him.  There are reports the team wasn't impressed by Jackson last season (some said he made some business decisions on the field near the end of the season).  He also likely was looking for too much money (and said he wanted to play for a contender).

Time and situation can change one's perspective.  At this point, you have two sides in the "beggars can't be choosers" mode.

Adoree was hurt for part of last year and subpar at times when he played.  Even if not at his best he's an upgrade over McCloud or Hawkins......but I get the feeling the Giants didn't really want to do this and hoped they wouldn't have to. They have to be a little disappointed that nobody came close to being capable of doing the job.

Yeah, it seemed pretty clear the Giants were really hoping Flott would win the job.  Frankly, I was a bit surprised they didn't give Hawkins a proper look with the ones.  Hawkins is really the only one on the roster, outside of Banks, who has the physical abilities to be an NFL-caliber CB.

He was paid like a number 1 when we first got him. I think the Giants let him go simply because he was a high price acquisition, and he probably wanted to be paid like he was in his youth after putting up good numbers. That ship kinda sailed once he had an off year. As a free agent, he was probably hoping to get a good offer, but now he's probably going to get a little over vet min. I could be wrong. Been wrong a lot when trying to divine Giants' actions. Personally, I'm glad he's back. Hopefully he's in great shape. He's still only 28 years old, so there should be gas in his tank and he's at the prime age of male athletes (27-29)

I would assume a one-year contract that is low on salary and guarantees but high on incentives

I thought so too but he played more snaps Wide 608 to Slot 115. His Coverage grades dropped considerably last season. He went from 86.9 three years ago to 71.5, to 45.9 LY. Banks wasn't that great either LY at 48.6 and 76th in the league at 50% of total. Most of the Giants CB were weak in pass coverage except for McCloud 80.7.

I wonder if it was the scheme to some extent. Regardless, his performance likely killed him with his LY numbers. Worst on the team and he's only 28.

It probably didn't help the CBs that Wink needed to scheme almost all the pressure (often sacrificing coverage players in the process).   Hopefully, the addition of Burns will make the CB job a bit easier.

Go get him as even if he's declined he's much better than what we have.

Unfortunately he'd be unfamiliar with Bowen's schemes as not having played for him.

I'm not the slightest bit enthused about this signing. Jackson lost a step two years ago. To me he's an aging backup that's a last minute desperation signing
